Here are three cool new apps that you should have on your smartphone.

Remove

Scalado has a cool object-removal app that allows you to remove unwanted people/objects from your images. This app is still not released, but was put out on protoype testing to Engadget, who found a couple of bugs and saw some issues with the responsiveness of the app. This app is designed for Android phones. It takes several photographs in a row and then builds an image with the most static details that the user can edit.

Its as simple as click, remove, and share!

Scalado will showcase Remove, the first of many new innovations planned this year, at the 2012 Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, February 27th to March 1st, as per their press release.

Caffeine Zone 2

This free Android and Apple app is a wonderful way to ensure that you do not overdo the coffee (that happens to be my choice of poison). I often have coffee based on my workload and meal times. Come high-turnover periods and I am on a coffee binge. According to this app, there is no need to do this. It recommends that we have our first (and only) big cup of coffee at the start of the day and then follow up with smaller doses.

The user is expected to continuously enter details like when coffee is being consumed. This app translates these details into how much coffee there already is in your blood stream. The point being that we often do  not require as much coffee as we think to stay sharp.

Pingit

This is a mobile phone-based payment app for Barclays available for all smartphones. It allows transfers of up to  £300. The daily limit for receiving payments is £5,000. Right now this is only enabled for Barclays current account customers.

“For friends splitting the cost of dinner, repaying a borrowed £10 or people sending money to a son or daughter at university, it’s free, quick, convenient, secure and easy to use. You can send and receive money in seconds, without having to enter account details.”

said  Antony Jenkins, chief executive of Barclay’s retail and business banking

It could pose a threat to PayPal as it may not keep transaction fees for transactions processed by consumers.

Green Charging is a smartphone app that notifies you when your battery is fully charged by vibrating and sounding an alarm. The app helps to save both energy and money as mobile phones   and chargers continue to use electricity even when they are fully charged.

Twavel

Twavel is a highly addictive app that makes choosing green travel options fun. Your carbon footprint is displayed in the form of a cute character called a Twibble, which morphs between a healthy eco creature and a wheezing beast, depending on the choices you make.

Fuel Saver

The Fuel Saver app helps you improve your fuel efficiency by providing you with feedback about your driving habits. The app claims to be able to help you reduce your fuel usage by up to 16% simply by alerting you when you are driving too fast, accelerating to quickly and breaking harshly.

GoodGuide

Use the GoodGuide app’s barcode to quickly discover whether products are safe, healthy, green and socially responsible while you’re shopping. Scan of your favourite products whilst shopping and this handy app will tell you if they pass or fail your own specific criteria.

iamgreen Battery Saver

A great little app that allows you to control all the functions on your Blackberry that use the most power, such as WiFi, bluetooth, brightness and volume, all on one screen. There’s also a handy a quiz to help you assess your green profile.

Green Outlet

Identify which of your household appliances are using the most electricity using the Green Outlet app. This clever little app helps you to can make informed decisions which devices you use, predicts your electricity bills and calculates your household Carbon Footprint.

Carbon-Tracker

This ingenious Android app measures the amount of CO2 emitted by your car. The app takes CO2 “snapshots” whilst you’re driving and combines this with GPS information. The data collected can be view directly on the Android phone or uploaded to your laptop or even the web.

British Gas App

The British Gas smartphone app not only allows you to submit your gas and electricity meter readings and check latest bills, payments and tariff, but you can also review your energy usage and compare it with other customers in your local area.

One Stop Green Mobile App

Zero Carbon
