Mobile Mondays | OVI Magazine, HTC Incredible Rumors And More

Welcome to the Second Edition of Mobile Mondays. I’m sure most of you were waiting for the second edition of the Mobile Mondays. This week we haven’t seen any major product launches or leaked pics and rumors of upcoming devices, but this week was full of excitement as release dates and pricing of many handsets were revealed. Check out some interesting stuffs of this week below.

Nokia:

Nokia hasn’t unveiled a single handset in this week but it has definitely made us happy by launching the Nokia E72 in a new purple color. Nokia E72 is the company’s most popular business phone which was launched last year. This handset is now available in a beautiful purple color with the same price tag of $359.

Microsoft’s Silverlight is now officially available for Symbian S60 v5 touchscreen devices such as Nokia N97, N97 Mini and Nokia 5800. You can download Silverlight for Symbian and view Silverlight applications right inside your mobile browser.

The first BADA powered smartphone which was unveiled at Mobile World Congress, 2010 is now available in Germany. Samsung Wave 8500 was recently spotted at the Amazon’s site and it is priced at €429 (approx. $580) without any contract. HTC:

LG electronics recently launched its Android powered smartphone, LG GW620 in India. This handset comes with a slide-out QWERTY keypad, 3 inches TFT resistive touch screen and an amazing 5 megapixel camera. Other interesting feature includes 3G Connectivity, GPS Navigation, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 32GB expandable memory and so on. This handset is priced at Rs.18,990 (approx. $415).

Handset Of The Week – Sony Ericsson Vivaz:

Sony Ericsson Vivaz is a stylish smartphone which runs on a Symbian S60v5 operating system. The main feature of this device is its 8.1 megapixel camera which allows the device to record HD (720p) videos. Samsung recently announced its Bada powered smartphone, Samsung Wave S8500 at the Mobile World Congress. This is the first handset that runs on the Samsung’s Bada operating system. The device is powered by super AMOLED display, 1 GHz application processor, 3G Connectivity, 5 megapixel camera with HD Video recording and so on.

Samsung recently unveiled its much awaited smartphone, Samsung Wave S8500. This is the first handset powered by Samsung’s powerful operating system, Bada. This device comes with a 3.3 inches WVGA Super AMOLED display, 1Ghz application processor, 3G Connectivity, 5 megapixel camera with HD Video recording and so on.

Live Coverage Of Samsung MWC 2010 Press Event

Today at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2010, Samsung unveiled Wave, its first smartphone that runs on the new BADA operating system. Samsung Wave is powered by Super AMOLED display,  on-screen QWERTY keyboard,  1 GHz application processor and so on. Check out the complete coverage of Samsung Press Event below.

Samsung was almost one hour late for its own event. As the event started, they announced that, they are the market leader in touchscreen phones. They had a 16% growth in their business last year while the mobile the industry was down by 8%.  Their  aim is to make smartphones available for everyone.

Samsung claimed that their AMOLED displays are the best touchscreens in the industry and their 1GHz chip makes their phones the fastest in the market. They are also planning to launch the BADA operating system and their own application store within the next few months. Last year Samsung Apps was launched only in 3  countries, but this year it will be available in more than 50 countries around the world.

Soon after their introductory speech and business strategy, Samsung unveiled  their  much awaited  smartphone, Samsung Wave. This device has an excellent Super AMOLED display that reflects five times less light, which means that you can easily use it in indoors as well as outdoors. The body of this device is made up of aluminium material.

Samsung Wave has a clean, attractive and trendy user interface, TouchWIZ UI 3.0. The Wave comes with 10 homescreens that will allow you to organize all your widgets effectively. Samsung Wave is powered by a 1GHz application processor. Currently, this is the most powerful mobile processor available in the world. The 1GHz processor will allow you to run your favorite applications at a faster speed.

Samsung Wave has integrated most of the social networking and email services such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Yahoo, Gmail and so on. The ultimate inbox allows you to check email, SMS, MMS, Twitter, MySpace at once place. Though you can view them separately, it helps to stay organized on the go.

Bada is the Samsung’s most powerful mobile platform. This operating system supports flash contents. Samsung Wave users can download thousand of applications from the Samsung Apps store. Samsung apps will provide wide range of high quality applications. You can download as well as purchase applications from this store. It will support multiple payment options and it would be available in more than 50 countries in the coming months.
