Samsung Corby II Goes Official!

Yesterday, along with the Samsung Galaxy Pro, Samsung also announced the successor to the highly successful Corby the Corby II.

The Corby II sports a 3.14-inch touchscreen display and has a completely new design. The handset also features Wi-Fi b/g/n, Accelerometer, quad-band GSM/EDGE support (No 3G, Sadly), Bluetooth 3.0, FM Radio, microSD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack.


The phone runs on Samsung’s custom UI TouchWIZ and also features Microsoft Exchange support.   The back of the phone houses a disappointing 2MP fixed-focus camera. The Corby II will be powered by a 1000mAh battery which is quoted at a talk time of 9.5 hours!

Corby II will also feature the QuickType’ keyboard from Samsung, which is similar to the popular Swype’ keyboard. It will be available in White, Pink and Yellow.

The Corby II will hit the retail stores of Germany by the end of March, followed by Europe, Asia, China, India and Africa. Samsung did not mention anything about the pricing of the handset.


Next Samsung Corby to get Android 2.1?

As we can see, its Android`s era and every major cellular company is releasing Android powered smartphones. However, the Android market has not been able to release any affordable handset within the price of Rs. 15000
It seems that Samsung GT-i5500 could be the first Corby series handset featuring Android 2.1 operating system at Rs. 12000 (200 Euros).

According to Italian site Puntocellulare, Samsung i5500 has WiFi, 3G and GPS support. i5500 is a touchscreen handset and it features probably a 3MP camera.

GT-i5500 has also got FCC`s approval and it is likely to be announced in coming 3 -4 weeks. Unfortunately, its photos are not yet out, but we will inform you as soon as we get.

Samsung Launches Corby Spring Collection

Earlier this month, Samsung released new colors for its Samsung Corby phone in South Korea. It has been tagged as “Samsung Corby Spring Collection”. The new colors include Lilac Blue, Violet Purple, Freesia Yellow, Peppermint Green and Rosebay Pink.

Samsung Corby is currently available in 10 different colors in South Korea. More than 500,000 units of Samsung Corby has already been sold in South Korea and they are expecting to sell more units, thanks to the new Spring Collection.

There are no changes in the specs of this device. It has the same 2 megapixel camera, full touchscreen display, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, 8GB expandable memory, music player and much more. The Spring Collection of Samsung Corby is not expected to be released in other countries.

Watch Live TV on Your Mobile Phone with Samsung Corby TV and Metro TV

Samsung India has just launched two new handsets – Corby TV and Metro TV, that will let users watch live television on their mobile phones. The MimobiTV mobile TV application used by the aforementioned CDMA handsets was developed by Samsung in partnership with Apalya technologies.


Corby TV will retail for Rs. 9,699. It features a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT display along with a two mega-pixel camera. Corby TV is OMH (Open Market Handsets) enabled, which means that the handset is unlocked and users can switch service providers later. Other features include support for microSD cards up to 8 GB, 32 touch widgets and active mail sync for push mail.

Metro TV is the cheaper model out of the two and is available for Rs. 6,999. Like Corby TV, it features a two mega-pixel camera along with support for microSD cards up to 8GB. Other features include Indian calendar, nine regional language support, advanced mobile tracker and SOS alert.

Samsung is also offering attractive data plans with both these handsets. Users can get a free Mobile TV subscription for 3 months along with 15 GB of bandwidth per month, for 2 months on post-paid connection and 1 month on prepaid connections, from Tata Photon Plus. Alternatively, users can opt for a free Mobile TV subscription for two months from Reliance Mobile. 15 GB of bandwidth per month for two months on post-paid connections and 10 GB bandwidth for 1 month on prepaid connections is also included with this offer. This offer is valid only til July 30.

Samsung Launches Corby Pop C3510 In India

Samsung Electronics recently launched Samsung Corby Pop C3510 in India. This handset is the cheaper version of Samsung Corby C3650. This device was recently announced in Russia under its Corby range of mobile phones. This handset comes with 2.8 inches touchscreen display, 1.3 megapixel camera, 8 GB expandable memory and so on.

Samsung Corby Pop has a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 240×320 pixels, GPRS and EDGE connectivity, Bluetooth,  1.3 megapixel camera,  USB, audio and video player,  stereo FM radio with RDS, 30 MB internal memory, expandable upto 8 GB and so on.

Other features includes 3.5 mm audio jack,  smart unlock, DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine),  cartoon UI, social networking integration with live updates,  Java, 10 hours of talktime and upto 25 hours of music playback.

Palringo IM is pre-installed in this device. It allow you to stay connected with your friends on Google Talk and AIM. Samsung Corby Pop is priced at around Rs.7000.

Samsung Corby Pop C3510 Announced In Russia

Recently, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics announced Samsung C3510 in Russia. This device is called as Samsung Corby Pop in India and Samsung Genoa C3510 in Europe. This device comes under the Corby range of mobile phones manufactured by Samsung.

This device comes with a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 240×320 pixels, 1.3 megapixel camera, GPRS and EDGE connectivity, Bluetooth, USB, stereo FM radio with RDS, audio and video player, 30 MB internal memory, expandable upto 8 GB and so on.

Other features includes smart unlock, cartoon UI, social networking integration with live updates, 3.5 mm audio jack, DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine), Java, 10 hours of talktime and upto 25 hours of music playback.

Sadly, this device does not comes with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. This handset is priced at $200 in Russia. This device is expected to be available at the end of this month.

Samsung Corby Pop C3510 Is Coming To India

The Samsung Corby series has managed to become quite popular in India thanks to the smart combination of style and attractive pricing. But, Samsung isn’t resting on its laurels. It seems determined to mount pressure on competitors in the mid-level segment.

Samsung Corby POP C3510 – a scaled-down version of the popular S3650, will be available in India pretty soon. Corby Pop is expected to cost around Rs 7,000. It will have a 2.8 inch QVGA Screen with a resolution of 240×320 pixels, 1.3 MP Camera, MP3 Player, FM Radio, 22 MB internal memory, strong Li-ion battery and almost 8 hours of talk time. C3510 won’t have 3G or Wi-Fi support. However, Samsung will also launch a higher end model with Wi-Fi capabilities.


Corby POP will retain most of the features present in S3650. Besides the Touchscreen, features like multi-instant messenger and social networking integration (Twitter, Facebook and MySpace) have proved to be big selling points for the Corby series. Boosted by the lower price point Corby POP should be able to continue the impressive performance of the Corby series.

Samsung Corby S3650W Will Get Wi-Fi


Samsung Corby S3650 which is already been a hit in mid-range phone market will be soon getting Wi-Fi. Although it is not official till now but keeping in view the Samsung Star which also got Wi-Fi this cannot be ignored.

The Wi-Fi version will be S3650W. The certification paper of Corby was spotted in Wi-Fi alliance official site. Samsung understands the importance of high speed internet so if 3G is not available in their device then Wi-Fi surely will be.

The people who were looking forward to get Samsung Corby S3650 must now wait for the Wi-Fi version S3650W. It is not official till now but it is just a matter to time when it gets official.

Samsung Launches Corby Mate In India

Samsung has launched its latest full QWERTY phone named Samsung Corby Mate in India. This handset is known as Samsung B3310 in European markets. This handset comes with just 2 mega-pixel camera and 2 inch QVGA display.

Samsung Corby Mate comes with slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a unique numeric keypad on the left of the screen. Other features includes a music player with FM Radio, 2 mega-pixel camera, 40MB of internal memory and MicroSD card support. This phone also offers easy access to social networking sites and e-mail. Unfortunately, this handset does not feature Wi-Fi and 3G.

Samsung Corby Mate is not a touch screen phone like the another version of Samsung Corby. The price of this handset is still unknown, but it is expected that it would be slightly higher than the Samsung Corby S3650. You can check out the official page here.
