Apple Sends Invitation For Event on September 1, iPod, iTV?

Apple has just sent out press invites to several websites about an Apple event which will take place on September 1, 2010 at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts Theatre in San Francisco at 10 AM Pacific time.

However, there is no confirmed news on what the event would be about. However, it could be about the iTV device which is the next generation Apple TV, new features in iTunes and even the new 4G. It is rumored that the iPod Touch 4G may have a 5MP camera and support FaceTime.

There are several speculations on what the event will be about, however, there is no conclusive way to predict what surprise Steve Jobs might spring upon us this time around. Mark your dates.

Apple Offering Full Refunds for iPhone 4

Earlier today, Steve Jobs addressed a iPhone 4 press conference in relation to the Antenna issues plaguing the since it launch. The iPhone 4 conference began on a lighter note with Steve Jobs playing the iPhone Antenna song to the invitees. (Read: Steve Jobs iPhone 4 Conference Details Roundup)

To address the issue Steve Jobs demoed several mobile phones dropping connections and later on offered FREE bumpers for iPhone 4 users to pacify users.

In addition to the free iPhone bumpers, Steve Jobs also said that if you are unhappy with the 4, you can return the undamaged device for a full refund. Steve Jobs quoted: "And, if you’re still not happy even after getting a case, you can bring your iPhone 4 back undamaged for a full refund. We are going to take care of everyone. We want every user to be happy — and if we can’t make them happy, we’ll give them a full refund."

So if you are unhappy with your iPhone 4 even after you get the free iPhone bumper, head over to your local AT&T or Apple store to return the device and get a full refund back.

Free Bumper for iPhone 4 Users Till September 30th

If you are a user who has been facing issues with your Antenna, here is some good news which came out of the iPhone 4 press conference being held at California today.

Steve Jobs has promised every 4 a free bumper case. Steve Jobs said: "Secondly: a lot of people have told us the bumper solves the signal strength problem. Okay. Great. Let’s give everyone a case. We want to give everyone is going to get a free case."

And with this he announced that every iPhone 4 users will get a free bumper case through September 30th and if you have purchased a bumper case separately, Apple will give you a refund for it.

Apple has also promised to buy cases from 3rd party vendors due to the shortage of bumper cases with them, so you just have to pick a case and Apple will send it to you for free. In addition to that you can also send back your iPhone 4 to Apple if you are not happy with it.

Apple is holding a Press Conference about the presumably to address concerns about the signal "Death Grip" issues, plaguing them since the 4 launched last month. Apple has sold over 3 million units since launch, and many if not all of them have an issue where the signal bar drops if you hold the phone in a certain way.

A bumper cases is said to resolve the issue, but is not clear whether Apple might be forced to recall the iPhone 4 units or provide free bumper cases to everyone. Also, it is not clear at this time whether Steve Jobs himself will be talking at the conference or not.

Apple has been dodging the iPhone 4 reception issues by asking users to hold the iPhone 4 differently and also addressing the public through an open letter about the reception issues. However, a recent Consumer Reports article which asked users to avoid the iPhone 4 has not yet gotten any response from Apple.

Many users thought that a software update may resolve the issues, however, which was made available earlier does not solve reception issues with the iPhone 4, however, iOS 4.0.1 does solve the signal bar issue to a certain extent. It will be interesting to see what Apple and Steve Jobs have to say at the conference.

Apple To Hold iPhone 4 Press Conference On Friday

Looks like Apple is finally going to make a statement about the  Antenna issues that have been haunting them since the 4 released.

According to Loop Insight, Apple on Wednesday invited select press to a special press conference they will be holding this Friday in California. The only news available right now about the Press Conference is that it will be about the iPhone 4, which obviously points towards the Death Grip reception issues users are facing.

Apple may also address the press about the recent Consumer reports, though it is highly unlikely. All eyes and ears will be tuned towards California. We will update when more information about the Apple Press Conference on Friday becomes available. Hold your iPhone 4 right till then.
