Nokia 5530 Firmware Updated To V32.0.007

Nokia has released a new firmware update for its second S60v5 based touch screen phone the Nokia 5530. The Nokia 5530 features a 2.9-inch resistive screen with nHD (360×640) resolution. The firmware update for the handset is numbered V32.0.007. The firmware update is a pretty minor one and aims at fixing some bugs and improves the stability of the device.

The Nokia 5530 features UDP so users need not worry about their data before proceeding with the firmware update. Nokia 5530 owners can get the firmware update either via OTA (Over-The-Air) or via Nokia Software Updater (NSU).

Nokia C6 Firmware Ported To 5800

The Nokia 5800 was the first Symbian S60 v5 based phone from the Finnish giant. Nokia was heavily criticized for the clunky and out-dated S60 v5 UI. However, the 5800Nokia C6 sold like hot cakes all over the world, and still does, thanks to its irresistible price and features like Free Walk and Drive navigation. Due to its popularity, the handset is also very popular among the modding/developer community. Custom firmwares for the 5800 were out for quite some time now.

However, the folks behind PNHT have now managed to port the Nokia C6 firmware over to the 5800. Except for a few differences including the side slide-out QWERTY keyboard on the C6, the internals of both the phones like Processor speed, RAM are totally identical. Users who are interested in installing the Nokia C6 firmware on their phone can check this thread over at PNHT forums.

Nokia 5530 Firmware Updated To v31.0.005

Its raining firmware updates for Nokia phones. Just a couple of days ago, Nokia released a firmware update for the Nokia 5800. Today, Nokia has rolled out a new firmware update for the Nokia 5530. The new firmware version isNokia5530 numbered v31.0.005. This firmware update is a pretty minor one and mainly aims at fixing the bugs and improving the performance of the phone.

Nokia 5530 v30.0.009 Firmware Update Released

Nokia has just rolled out a new firmware update for the Nokia 5530. The new firmware update is numbered v30.0.009. The Nokia 5530 has a 2.9-inch screen with a resolution of 360*640 (nHD). The phone is powered by anclip_image001 ARM 11 434 MHz CPU, and has 128MB of RAM along with 70MB of internal memory. The device also has Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 3.2MP camera with LED flash.

The changes in this firmware are similar to the changes, which the Nokia 5800, 5230 got via a firmware update earlier. There is kinetic scrolling throughout the phone’s UI now, including the web-browser. The web-browser is now similar to the one on the Nokia N97, and automatically switches to full screen mode after sometime.

The music player of the phone has also been updated to resemble that of the N97. Two new applications Ovi Sync and Ovi contacts have also been added. The firmware is available via Nokia Software Update, as well as FOTA. The Nokia 5530 has UDP, so users don’t need to make a backup of their device before updating the firmware.
