Download The Best Music Player For Your Android Phone

Thanks to the awesome folks over at the Droid-Life, I have got my hands on what is arguably the best media player for Android out there. This awesome music player from Motorola is bundled with the rugged Motorola Defy and it sports a plethora of features including TuneWiki integration.

The interface of the player is pretty decent but it’s the features it supports which make it a killer app. The integration with TuneWiki means that the app can display the lyrics of the song.   The player has built in support for FM radio, Blip.fm and SHOUTcast as well!

Another awesome feature of the app is that it can help you identity a song using SoundHound. If all these features are still not enough for you to try this app, then the last feature definitely will! This music player from Motorola is the first Music Player I have found in Android to feature an in built Music Sleep’ feature.

For some people, this may not be important but this feature is nothing but a necessity for people who have a habit of dozing off while listening to music.

Even though this awesome music app is made by Motorola, it worked flawlessly on my HTC Desire Z and the Samsung Galaxy S, both of which are running on a custom ROM based on Android 2.2.1. Readers can download the app from here.

Motorola Defy To Get Android 2.2 Update In Q2, 2011

Motorola has today announced that their rugged and water resistant Android handset the Motorola Defy – will get its Android 2.2 love for sure. The only downside is that Motorola is expected to roll out the update in the second quarter of the next year i.e. sometime in Q2 of 2011. Sadly, the company also announced that the Motorola Milestone XT720 won’t get an update to Android 2.2 at all and will remain stuck with Android 2.1 forever.

Motorola_Defy

Here is the official announcement from Motorola :

Today we can confirm that in EMEA we plan to upgrade Motorola DEFY to Android 2.2 (FroYo) in the second quarter of next year and that Milestone XT720 will remain on Android 2.1. Anyone looking for information about this and updates for other regions should go to our forum.

Hopefully, Motorola won’t delay the Android 2.2 update for the Defy to Q3. If my memory serves me right, no manufacturer has been able to roll out the Froyo update for their handset on their scheduled date.
