Motorola Rolling Out Maintenance Update For CLIQ XT

Motorola CLIQ XT users are still waiting for the Android 2.1 update, but in the meantime Motorola has started rolling out a new maintenance update which improves the overall performance of the device. The maintenance update is numbered v1.32.20 and it can be easily downloaded by following the steps given below. It is recommended to download the update over Wi-Fi or 3G with a fully charged battery and active SIM card installed in your phone. Check out the complete changelog below.

Overall Phone Performance:
Users will notice a significantly improved overall performance and responsiveness to input requests, including: opening applications, answering calls, opening the Happenings widget, and downloading attachments and pictures within email.

Additional Stability:
Improved stability, resulting in fewer occurrences of unresponsiveness and/or programs quitting unexpectedly.

Bluetooth Performance:
Improved performance and connectivity with other Bluetooth devices.

Prevents erroneous notifications that a message has not been sent. Also resolves MMS sending / receiving functionality issues in certain scenarios.

Improved touch screen sensitivity and touch response.

SWYPE Keyboard:
Includes updates to the latest version of the SWYPE software, resulting in improved overall performance of the application.

Instructions for installing the Maintenance Update:

  • Upon receipt of the notification message, select Download.
  • After the software is downloaded, select Install now.
  • After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.

Motorola Launches Cliq XT/Quench

Motorola today announced Motorola CLIQ XT (in USA) / QUENCH (Rest of the world) with MOTOBLUR at the Mobile World Congress. Motorola Cliq XT is an Android powered device and comes with 3.1high resolution display and a 5 megapixel camera with Auto-Focus and LED Flash. Though, the device runs on Android OS it runs on Android 1.5, which is an age old version of Android.
