Last year, Samsung launched its first Bada powered smartphone, the Samsung Wave S8500. This handset originally runs on the Bada 1.0 Operating system and comes with a 3.3 inches WVGA Super AMOLED display, 1Ghz application processor, 3G Connectivity, 5 megapixel camera with HD Video recording and so on. Now you can try the new Bada 2.0 Operating System on your original Samsung wave smartphone, thanks to the leaked firmware.

Samsung Wave comes features a 3.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 1Ghz application processor, TouchWiz 3.0 UI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3G Connectivity, 5 megapixel camera with HD Video recording, support for Divx, Xvid, WMV and MP4 video files, virtual 5.1 surround sound, Stereo FM radio with RDS, 32GB expandable memory and Samsung Apps store.

The leaked firmware is currently in beta version. It comes with some new features such as the new UI, the drag-down widgets screen, Music and Social hubs, the revamped gallery with stacked albums, the 3D cover flow-like music player, the Dolphin browser 3.0 and much more. Since the leaked firmware is in beta, you might have to face some bugs and crashes.

According to the guys at GSMArena, adding new widgets to the homescreen and switching off the handset crashes the OS, IM doesn’t work with all accounts, the Google and Facebook app don’t work. Looks like Google Voice might be trying to take over Skype on the desktop in the future. In a video that aired on TechCrunch today, Mike Arrington got hold of the Google Voice Desktop application using which he could make and receive calls.

The calls were of pretty high quality and did were made using the inbuilt speaker and microphone on the computer. The Google Voice Desktop app has a definitive edge over the Skype application because it is attached to your actual phone number. If this app is released it will make it really easy for users to make phone calls from their desktop just like Skype and will definitely make Google Voice one of the best innovations ever.

Windows Live Wave 4 has been in the making for quite sometime now and should be released shortly, however, few MVPs and Microsoft Connect users got early access to the closed beta preview of Windows Live Wave 4.

However, like every software, a version of Windows Live wave 4 was leaked on the internet, and according to DSQ is also available for download through torrents.

Windows Live Wave 4 contains the same family of products from Wave 3 including Windows Live Mail, Live Writer, Live Messenger, Live Photo Gallery, Live Movie Maker and Live Sync among others. The Windows Live Messenger does not work right now for regular users, but there is a patch floating around the internet which will allow users to sign in using regular hotmail/live IDs.

Other changes in WL Wave 4 include a new ribbon interface for Windows Live Writer, and a Outlook like UI for Windows Live Mail.
