One of the new features in iOS4 includes multi-tasking, this feature is available only for iPhone 3GS and certain iPod Touch devices.

iOS4 Multitasking

To multitask with iOS4 on an iPhone or iPod Touch, just double-tap on the home button when an app is open, this will bring up new apps for you to choose from at the bottom of the screen.

You can scroll through all the open apps by shifting it to the right or left of the screen. Once you click on the app it will seamlessly switch between the current one and the one you chose to multitask with.

iOS4 Multitasking Close App

To close an open app, just press and hold the icon and click on the "-" symbol at the left corner, this will close the app altogether. Have fun multi-tasking on your new iOS4 on an iPhone or iPod Touch.

iOS4 Update For iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch Coming This Monday? Are You Ready?

Apple will be releasing a free update for 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch this Monday, this will bring a lot of new features to your devices including multi-tasking, so are you ready?

However, before you upgrade, here is what you should know. iOS4 was specifically created with the in mind, and for older devices it is a big battery drain. Here is a tweet one of my friends posted who is using iOS4 GM on an iPod touch.

iOS4 Battery Drain

So, with multitasking and wallpaper support, your older iDevice will drain battery much faster than the iPhone 4, which has a better and newer battery itself.

Again, you can save battery life by turning off Wi-Fi and lowering the brightness of the device, however, with normal usage it will only run for 3 hours or so.

ios4_usage

This goes on to show that other than iPhone 4, the earlier iDevices were not created for multi-tasking and iOS4 update will definitely have a huge impact on it. Of course, iOS4 brings a lot of new features, but those features come at a cost, so upgrade only if you are certain about it, because thanks to Apple, there will be no rollback.

Note: Multitasking and Wallpaper support will be enabled by default in iPhone 3GS, however, you can enable it in other devices if you jailbreak iPhone using redsn0w.

Redsn0w 0.9.5 To Jailbreak iOS4 Now Available for Windows

The iPhone Dev-team have released a new update for Windows which will allows users to jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC version) running  Golden Master using redsn0w 0.9.5.

Redsn0w Beta 0.9.5 Windows

redsn0w 0.9.5 beta will turn on multitasking and homescreen wallpaper by default. You can also deselect these features if you don’t want them.

Please make sure to read the Dev teams note before using redsn0w 0.9.5 beta:

YOU SHOULD STAY CLEAR OF THIS BETA SOFTWARE IF YOU RELY ON A CARRIER UNLOCK. That’s because the beta redsn0w works only if your device has already been upgraded to the stock 4.0beta1/beta4/GM IPSW from Apple, which contains a baseband update. If you installed that IPSW, you’ve already lost the carrier unlock until the next planned release of ultrasn0w and blacksn0w.

You can also jailbreak iPhone 3GS running iOS4 using PwnageTool. You will require to download iTunes 9.2 in order to install iOS4. However, if you have jailbroken your or iPod touch using the Spirit jailbreak tool, do not upgrade to iTunes 9.2 as of yet.

More instructions and the download for redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta for Windows can be found here.

Craigslist Ad Gets Duo Arrested For Weed For iPad Exchange Ad

We would think that people are crazy, but you wouldn’t find crazier people than  those posting ads on Craigslist, the free classified site which has had it’s share of controversies over its existence.

iPad Craigslist Weed Exchange Ad

In a really stupid and almost "come-and-arrest-me" ad on Craigslist, two men posted an ad on Craigslist for an exchange. And what was the exchange the stupid guys posted? Take a look at the image above, the guys were trading in an iPod Touch in perfect condition (sane) + Weed or what they call DANK (high quality Marijuana) (insane) for an (OMG).

Oh yes, they posted this stupid ad just to get an iPad in exchange, this was surely one of the worst ways to get yourself arrested, and yes they did get arrested after a tipoff.

Once a tipoff was received by the cops, undercover cops responded to the ad and arrested two 20-year olds from Gilbert, Arizona after they were served up the dope in exchange for the iPad.

The dumbest part of all this is that those folks actually uploaded the image of the dope on a scale in the ad too. Oh and if you think that this was a dumb thing to do, we have even more dumber people out there in the world. Last year a criminal escaped from a Suffolk, UK prison and starting taunting the cops through Facebook, though he was eventually caught later, that was by far the most stupid thing to do.

And if you thought that the Internet was not a weird place, take a look at how a woman banged her head against a wall.. err vehicle and sued Google Maps.
