However, less than one week into the tournament and Google and Indiatimes have both come up with an agreement where the IPL 4 2011 matches will be broadcast on YouTube too.

YouTube will broadcast all the IPL 4 2011 matches live online at http://www.youtube.com/indiatimes. Users can also catch up with match highlights and other videos on the website. Alternatively, users can also watch the IPL 4 2011 matches live online at http://ipl.indiatimes.com/.

The fourth edition of IPL 4 will be starting on Friday, April 8th, 2011. This years IPL is bigger than ever with 10 teams participating for the ultimate glory and big prize money.

LG Electronics has announced the launch of its 3D LCD TVs in India. Initially it will be installing these televisions in public places like restaurants where large groups of people can enjoy 3D television in its full glory.

Valuable Group, a Mumbai-based media company, will be providing the 3D stream. It has already procured licenses to broadcast the remaining IPL matches in 3D. Ameya Hete, of Valuable Group, said, 3D brings a player’s perspective to the viewer. The ball comes towards him as the wicketkeeper would see it. This unique experience has been now brought to the people.

LH50 3D TV is one of the first commercially available 3D television sets in the world. It features an LED-backlight display, which can be coupled with specially constructed polarized filter glasses for full three-dimensional viewing experience.

Google which has been trying to raise voice over net neutrality for the last few years has run into some concerns in the matter. This became an issue when Bharti Airtel, a telecom and ISP giant in India advertised preferential treatment for IPL fans watching it over Youtube.

Net neutrality as defined by Techtarget is,

Net neutrality is the principle that data packets on the Internet should be moved impartially, without regard to content, destination or source. Net neutrality is sometimes referred to as the “First Amendment of the Internet.”

IPL is the ongoing cricket league match with teams comprising of players from over the world and teams from regions all over India.

Bharti Airtel was advertising faster Internet access for watching videos on Youtube. This ad was timed in the ad-timings scheduled between matches.

The ad which was displayed read,

TV QUALITY VIDEO WITHOUT BUFFERING,the advertisement promised. Airtel Broadband gifts all its customers 2Mbps SPEED UPGRADE for youtube.com/ipl.

The catch here is that the speed offerings are valid only for IPL videos and do not hold for other normal content browsing which will still be served at a slow speed.

Google has responded on this saying it did not see the ad and has asked Bharti to revise the ad now. Bharti Airtel though, is still showing the ad, this time on its website.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has begun and the cricket craze has taken over the nation. However, one interesting statistics that is bound to turn some heads is that 7,00,000 IPL videos were watched by Indians on the mobile phones.

In a recent press release, Vodafone India announced that tickets for IPL season 3 will be available for purchase through Vodafone mobile phones at the Vodafone M Shop.

Vodafone customers can purchase DLF IPL season III tickets through Vodafone M-Shop. Vodafone Customers can access M-Shop by dialing 53333 (toll free) or SMS MSHOP to 53333. Customers can also buy tickets by logging into Vodafone Live or www.vodafone.in.

Vodafone will also allow users to select seats in a particular stadium by guiding them through a detailed step by step process.

The DLF IPL 3 tickets will be exclusively sold by Vodafone. Once a ticket has been booked, customer will receive an SMS acknowledgment confirming the payment, users can then collect their tickets from select Vodafone stores or get it delivered to their door steps through a courier service.

Payment can be made through Credit cards, however, the service will come at a premium and users will have to pay a convenience charge of Rs. 30.

In the press release, Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Essar, Kumar Ramanathan said:
