Lalit Modi’s child, the Indian Premier League will begin on the 12th of March amidst much fanfare and celebration for it has returned to India after an exilelast season. The cricket-crazy nation will be treated to the fast-food of the game with sixty Twenty20 matches. The eight IPL teams will bring this fast paced game to the millions in stadiums and billions of people around the world on their television sets in what would be a month and a half of excitement!
The Opening Ceremony of the DLF IPL Season 3 will be hosted at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The eight teams (Deccan Chargers, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab) will be honored in this ceremony and the games will officially begin with the first match between the Deccan Chargers and the Kolkata Knight Riders with much fanfare! The Opening Ceremony will feature performances by Ali Campbell, Bjorn Again, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and pop star Lionel Ritchie with a wide variety of backup dancers. The captains of the teams will also sign a globe made of eco-friendly material to show their solidarity with the cause of saving the environment.
Seeing as how this is purely focused on entertainment, the DLF IPL 2010 has partnered with YouTube to introduce live streaming of every match and the opening ceremony right off YouTube!
