Apple released an update to iOS 4, with build iOS 4.1 earlier today and this might mean that jailbreaks which ran on iOS 4 may no longer work on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 2G.
However, the Dev team has been recently able to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 4 running the iOS 4. They have also managed to Unlock iOS 4 on Multiple Basebands and also unlock iPhone 3GS running iOS 4 with Blacksn0w. When Apple released iOS 4 last month, jailbreaks were available for the Golden Master firmware within a couple of days, so this suggests that Jailbreak and unlock for iOS 4.1 shouldn’t take much long too.
Currently there are several iOS 4 jailbreaks available, these include several software created by the Dev Team and others, namely PwnageToo for Jailbreaking iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS and 3G – PwnageTool works only on previously jailbroken iPhone 3GS having an old bootrom. Redsn0w for jailbreaking iOS 4 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G/2G amongst others.
Right now there is not concrete news from the Dev Team or other iPhone jailbreak developers as to whether they are working on updating the software to work with iOS 4.1. Nevertheless, it is a bit early to say anything since this is still beta software and Apple may go through several iterations before they release iOS 4.1 to public.
