iOS 4.1 Jailbreak and iOS 4.1 Unlock Might Come Out Soon

Apple released an update to , with build iOS 4.1 earlier today and this might mean that jailbreaks which ran on iOS 4 may no longer work on , 3GS, iPhone 3G, 3G and iPod Touch 2G.

However, the Dev team has been recently able to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 4 running the . They have also managed to Unlock iOS 4 on Multiple Basebands and also unlock iPhone 3GS running iOS 4 with Blacksn0w. When Apple released iOS 4 last month, jailbreaks were available for the Golden Master firmware within a couple of days, so this suggests that Jailbreak and unlock for iOS 4.1 shouldn’t take much long too.

Currently there are several iOS 4 jailbreaks available, these include several software created by the Dev Team and others, namely PwnageToo for Jailbreaking iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS and 3G – PwnageTool works only on previously jailbroken iPhone 3GS having an old bootrom. Redsn0w for jailbreaking iOS 4 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G/2G amongst others.

Right now there is not concrete news from the Dev Team or other iPhone jailbreak developers as to whether they are working on updating the software to work with iOS 4.1. Nevertheless, it is a bit early to say anything since this is still beta software and Apple may go through several iterations before they release iOS 4.1 to public.

We will keep an eye on new developments regarding Jailbreaking iOS 4.1 and  Unlocking iOS 4.1 and post the news as we come across them. Till then keep your fingers crosses and subscribe to our Mobile News to keep an eye on updates.

iOS 4.1

If you are an Apple Developer, you can download iOS 4.1 beta from the Apple developer site here to try out and build applications with. However, if you are an iPhone 4 user do not expect this to fix the Death Grip Antenna issue, we earlier reported that iOS 4.1 does not fix Antenna issues, so these issues are purely hardware related.

Also, if you have jailbroken iPhone, it is highly advisable to stay away from this update until the Dev team and others work on a new jailbreak for iOS 4.1. New features in iOS 4.1 are not very noticeable except for a change in the network signal bars.

iOS 4.1 also lays foundation for Game Center which has not yet launched. In addition to that, iOS 4.1 does not have support for the yet, so it iPad users may have to be content with using iOS 3.2 for now. Are your hands itching? Many people thought that a software update would fix the Antenna reception issues, but there are reports from Mobile Crunch which suggest that it does not do it. This means that Apple will most likely have to recall the faulty 4 from the market, which again will cost them billions of dollars.

Mobile Crunch have also included a video which demonstrates that the Antenna issues still exist after upgrading to iOS 4.1, check the video below.

iOS 4.1 has some noticeable differences where the signal bars are slightly bigger and the phone also has lesser bars. If you depend on Jailbreaking the iPhone or Unlocking iPhone you are advised to stay away from this update. We will keep you posted when iOS 4.1 jailbreaks and iOS 4.1 unlock becomes available.

GeoHot Ditching iPhone 4 Jailbreak, iPhone Jailbreak and iPad Jailbreak

It was just a couple of days ago we told you that Geohot had managed to jailbreak his iPhone 4 on the day he got it. Sadly, he was in no mood to make the jailbreak public. Now, Geohot has updated his last blog post to say thatiphone4 he has taken a sort of temporary retirement from the iPhone jailbreak and unlocking scene.

Here is what the updated blog post says :

Sorry, this post was probably a bad idea. Next time I won’t say anything. I miss when this blog was actually about technical things(I’ve been reacting too much to the feedback, which led it to the place it’s in now). I didn’t fully realize most of the current scene don’t care unless they are getting something. Now I do. It’s late tonight, I’ll think about what to do about this in the morning.

The real reason behind no release isn’t technical. It’s just that it will never stop, after blackra1n, people demand unlock, after blacksn0w, people demand untethered. I miss the days when jailbreaking and unlocking were difficult, it attracted a much higher caliber crowd.
Also, to the haters, the picture is quite obviously fake

Quite a strange move from Geohot here. He was the first guy to unlock the original iPhone way back in 2007. Now the hope of all owners depends on Comex and iH8sn0w to release a jailbreak for the new iPhone 4.

Check out these two ads below :

The third advertisement is about a dad trying to bring a smile to his daughter’s face by singing a song to her-:
