Steve Jobs just announced the next gen iPhone, the name is iPhone 4. How many of you guessed that? Steve Jobs said that this new design of the iPhone 4, is the first ever in the world. The phone does looks gorgeous.
The feature on which he is laying stress the most is on the display. Steve Jobs calls it Retina Display. The brief description of this Retina Display theory is that, the display pixels per inch has been increased to 326 per inch. This is one new feature out of the 100 in iPhone 4, as said by Steve Jobs. The iPhone 4 has glass on the front and back and steel around the sides.
The iPhone 4 is 24% slimmer than iPhone 3GS. It also has volume rocker buttons, and a button to mute. A camera with a LED flash is also present. Thank you Steve for this. The screen resolution is 960 x 640, that is huge wooah! The contrast ratio is 800:1 and it is 4 times better than iPhone 3GS. The screen also has the IPS technology which is better than OLED. The screen size is 3.5″. It has dual microphones.

The Apple World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) is just a few days away now. This year the expectations from the WWDC event are higher than before. The Gizmodo/iPhone 4G fiasco has already publicized the launch of the iPhone 4G/HD. This is the first time, that we have an idea of the specifications of the iPhone to be released by Apple. Apple has been known to keep its product under wraps before they officially announce it, but this time they have failed miserably. Thanks to the numerous leaks, we know that the iPhone 4G/HD will once again set the bar high so high, that other phone manufacturers will struggle to catch up. It was earlier rumoured that Steve Ballmer will be present at the WWDC event, but this news has been denied by Microsoft in a tweet.
This year, the WWDC will kick off with a keynote address from CEO Steve Jobs himself! More than 5000 developers are expected to visit the WWDC event this year. Besides the launch of the iPhone 4G/HD, we also expect a new generation of the iPod Touch from Apple. The iPod Touch prototype that leaked in Vietnam earlier this year, does indicate that the iPod touch will have a camera. Along with the two iDevices mentioned above, we also expect Apple to release a new Beta or maybe the final version of the upcoming iPhone 4 OS. Hopefully, Apple will also release the 10.6.4 update for Mac OS X. The 10.6.3 update for OS X, increased the boot-up times, and caused performance issues for many people.
According to Apple, this year the WWDC event will focus on five key technology tracks: Application Frameworks; Internet & Web; Graphics & Media; Developer Tools; and Core OS.This year, the WWDC event is being held at San Francisco. The event will start from June 7th and will continue until the 11th of June. The event will start from 10 AM local time, with a keynote from Steve Jobs. Here is the link to the special events to be held at the WWDC event. To watch the Steve Jobs keynote online, click here
According to a BGR source, the next generation iPhone or iPhone 4G may land in AT&T stores in June. This rumor may be true, considering that Steve Jobs may unveil the iPhone 4G at the WWDC 2010 conference on June 7th.
There have been several leaks of the iPhone 4G, however, the device that may be unveiled next month might be slightly or completely different altogether.
So will be you waiting with bated breaths on June 7, 2010 watching the Steve Jobs keynote, praying that he might spring the iPhone 4G from his pocket and show it to the world, or would rather just hang around and buy a Android based device with Android 2.2 Froyo installed?
With the anticipation of the release of iPhone 4G next month at WWDC 2010, the iPhone 3GS will slow but surely lose its charm since people would rather wait to get the next generation device rather than buying an old device.
However, now Walmart is enticing users to buy an iPhone 3GS by dropping the price to $97 for a two year contract. For $97 users will get an iPhone 3GS 16GB phone with a binding 2 year contract with AT&T.
If you have been reading this blog, you would know how I had raised issues on how Apple was keen on dumping iPhone 3GS in other markets when it announced the iPhone 3GS in India.
So would you be prepared to buy an iPhone 3GS for $97 considering that an iPhone 4G is just around the corner, or would you pass the offer and rather buy an iPhone 4G instead. Do let me know through your comments.
iPhone 4G, which is the next generation of iPhone devices has been under a lot of speculation. Just last month we posted some videos of iPhone HD, which was reportedly the next generation of iPhone, along with some so cute fake iPhone 4G images.
However, the folks at Giz posted some true images of the iPhone 4G which was found in a bar in San Francisco and for which we had tips to get an hands on, but albeit we could not.
Nevertheless, this time around there are some new leaked images of the iPhone 4G which have been reportedly been seen in Vietnam by Gizmodo.
So what do you think? Is this device the real iPhone 4G, or would you wait for Steve Jobs to actually come on stage and show the device to you?
All around the globe, Apple fans eagerly wait for the WWDC event. Apple has had a history of announcing many of its new products or a refresh of their existing line up of their iGadgets at the WWDC. Last year at WWDC, Apple had introduced Snow Leopard and the iPhone 3GS. Earlier, it was expected that the World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) from Apple would be held on 22nd June. But Today, Apple announced that the WWDC 2010 will be held on June 7 and continue until June 11.
“This year’s WWDC offers developers in-depth sessions and hands-on working labs to learn more about iPhone OS 4, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system,” said Scott Forstall, Apple’s senior vice president of iPhone Software. “WWDC provides a unique opportunity for developers to work side-by-side with Apple engineers and interface designers to make their iPhone and iPad apps even better.”
Thanks to the huge iPhone 4G or iPhoneHD fiasco, users already know about the new upcoming iPhone inside out. The five-day event will also include iPad application development sessions and a hands-on session on the iPhone OS 4.

Now that the iPad launch is out of the way, Apple needs to get the next generation of iPhone out on the blocks as it has already been so long since the iPhone OS received a serious boost.
There have been rumors of the iPhone 4G along with several fake iPhone 4G images cropping up on the Internet, along with an interesting but most likely fake video of iPhone HD.
However, it looks like there might be some good news from Apple, since BGR is reporting that Apple has sent out press invites to get a sneak peak at their next generation of iPhone OS, most likely iPhone OS 4.0.
With April 8th just a few days away, this will definitely send the rumors mills into high drive. We will be here covering the event live for you, so stay tuned and follow our RSS feeds to get the latest updates.
