HTC Mozart Running WP7 Leaked

Vertex214 over at Xda-Developers has managed to get his hand on a small brochure from the Australian carrier Telstra. The brochure shows the upcoming HTC Mozart which will be running on WP7. The device is expected toclip_image002 hit the stores sometime in the month of October. According to the brochure, the device will be sold for $49.

From the picture, it is clearly visible that the HTC Mozart is a Desire mock-up. It might be possible that the Mozart resembles the HTC Desire. The device is expected to hit T-Mobile USA as well. The “critical aim” of the device is to sell in large quantities.

Perhaps, this phone will help WP7 gain some market against the iOS4, and Android. As of now, no information about the phone’s hardware is available.

Apple iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Shipped Early; Hits Walmart And Best Buy As Well

Reports are flying in that most people are receiving their iPhone 4 pre-order before the scheduled date – tomorrow. For some other people, their iPhone 4 is in the FedEx delivery truck and should be in their hands by the endApple iPhone 4 of the day. However, it will be interesting to see whether Apple and AT&T will activate these phones before tomorrow i.e. Wednesday.

I guess the pre-orders were shipped early to soften the load on AT&T, and Apple servers, as well as FedEx delivery service. Engadget also reports that the first batch of iPhone 4s have hit the Walmart and Best Buy shelves. Neither Best Buy nor Walmart have confirmed this news. However, the images posted on the website do look legitimate.

Update: Apparently, some people who received their iPhone 4 early were able to activate it without any hitch.

Jailbreak iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS/3G And iPod Touch With PwnageTool 4.0

Just a couple of days ago Apple had released the iOS4 for its iTouch line-up. Yesterday, the folks behind redsn0w released an update of their application which allowed users to hacktivate iOS4 on their iPhone 3G, and jailbreak iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 2G. Now the folks behind PwnageTool have released an updated version of their application.

The PwnageTool works only on previously jailbroken iPhone 3GS having an old bootrom. The application does not support the latest bootrom. Therefore, users who are still stuck on jailbroken iPhone OS 3.1.2 can now upgrade to iOS4 via PwnageTool 4.0. They will retain their jailbreak after the update. iPhone 3G owners can update to iOS4 by restoring an ipsw created from PwnageTool 4.0 via recovery mode or DFU mode.

Sadly, the Pwnage Tool 4.0 does not support the iPhone 2G, the original iPod Touch, and the iPod Touch 3G. Here is the link to the post   with detailed instructions for different iTouch devices from Apple.

Apple Sells 3 Million iPads in 80 Days

The iTouch devices from Apple have been setting the sales chart on fire. Apple has already received more than 600,000 pre-orders for the iPhone in just a single day. The huge number of pre-orders forced Apple to push backApple iPad the shipping date of the pre-orders to July, instead of June.

Now Apple has announced in a press release that they have managed to sell 3 million iPads in 80 days from its U.S. launch date. Currently, there are more than 11,000 applications available for the iPad in the App Store.

“People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.”

Apple will launch the iPad in nine more countries in the upcoming month. I wonder how Apple will meet the demand for the device in these nine countries, with demand already exceeding supply by a huge margin.
