HTC Inspire 4G Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Rolling Out Now

HTC has started rolling out the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for AT&T”s version of the Desire HD, the Inspire 4G. The software update brings a number of enhancements and features, including enhancements in Sense UI and the usual Gingerbread goodies.

Sadly, the update does not include the latest version of Sense (v3.0), which supports widgets and shortcuts on the lock screen. HTC however has tweaked the Sense UI to include toggles on the notification bar, along with an updated app drawer. The copy-&-paste method and battery life of the handset have also been tweaked.

Inspire 4G owners can either wait for the OTA update to hit their phone, or they can manually download and install the update from here. Alternatively, they can pull the update from AT&T’s server by going to Settings->About Phone and selecting the Check for updates’ option.

Motorola Atrix 4G And HTC Inspire 4G Software Updates To Enable HSUPA Rolling Out Now!

AT&T has started rolling out two new software updates for the HTC Inspire 4G and the Motorola Atrix 4G. The software updates for both the handsets mainly aim at removing the cap from the upload speeds.

The Inspire 4G software update brings with some bug fixes, and some email enhancements including automatic configuration for Hotmail, Live and MSN email accounts. The software updates also enables higher upload speeds on the Inspire 4G, for which AT&T has been criticized.

The software update for the Atrix 4G enables higher upload speeds for the handset, and also bumps up the Android version to 2.2.2. Apparently, Motorola is also rolling out another software update for the Atrix 4G. The update in question is this one, which Motorola did not release to the consumers for some reason.

The updates for both the handsets are OTA one, and will be automatically pushed to all Atrix 4G and Inspire 4G handsets. Users can manually check for the update as well, by going to the Settings-> About Phone menu and selecting the Check for update option.
