HTC Sensation XL Gets The Android 4.0 ICS Update In India

Last year, HTC launched a powerful smartphone in its popular Sensation family, the HTC Sensation XL. It is the company’s first smartphone to sport the Beats Audio tag. The HTC Sensation XL was bundled with the amazing Beats Audio headphones. However, the device was shipped with the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. HTC has already promised to roll out the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for 16 smartphones, including the HTC Sensation XL. This was definitely a relief for the owners of this device.

Last month, HTC rolled out the Android 4.0 ICS update in Romania and other European countries. However, the Sensation XL owners in India were eagerly waiting to get their hands on the latest version of the Android OS. Now, the wait has finally come to an end. HTC India recently tweeted that the company has started rolling out the much-awaited Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for the HTC Sensation XL in India.

The latest update brings the Sense 3.6 UI, system bar enhancements, re-sizeable widgets, lock screen actions including pull down notifications and adjust volume while device is locked, data usage controls, face unlock, home screen folders, improved battery life, improved text input and spell checking, advanced voice and text input, improved menu structure and much more.

HTC Sensation XL owners can download and install the update directly from the phone using Wi-Fi. You should also make sure that your battery has at least 50% charge. It also comes with a 3.5mm headset jack, stereo FM radio with RDS, 768 MB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Android Market, Bluetooth 3.0, HTC Sync, GPS with A-GPS, 3G Connectivity and a 1600 mAh battery.

HTC Runnymede To Launch As HTC Sensation XL?

Earlier this year, the leaked pics of the HTC Runnymede was spotted in the wild. HTC Runnymede is the code name of this handset, but it was rumored that the device will be launched as HTC Bass. Now, according to the guys at PocketNow, HTC Runnymede will be a part of the Sensation family and the device will be launched as the HTC Sensation XL instead of HTC Bass. It will be the third member of the Sensation family, after the original HTC Sensation and the recently launched HTC Sensation XE. Check out the leaked specs of this device after the break.
