You could unsend emails for up to 5 seconds until now, as Gmail delayed the emails for 5 seconds before it actually sent them. This gave Gmail an easy way to handle the huge email traffic flowing through its servers and also provided a nice feature to its users. It has helped me a lot of times by allowing me to unsend my emails and correct them in case there were any mistakes.</p><p>Google now allows you to dial the delay duration up to 30 seconds. You can change the &#8220;Send Cancellation Period&#8221; to 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds by visiting Gmail &gt; Settings &gt; General &gt; Undo Send.</p><p><img class="aligncenter" title="Gmail Labs Undo Send" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images/pathik/gmail-labs-undo-send.jpg" alt="Gmail Labs Undo Send" width="492" height="57" /></p> <img src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/1328893892xoegw8hnpu1knghzxrkscumbag1328893892uivkaxsvysqswpu293x61328893892.jpg" class="scumbags" /><div style="font-size:12px"> <strong>Share:</strong> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/gmail-undo-send-duration-now-up-to-30-seconds.html#commentrespond" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Comment on This Post</a> | <a href="http://twitter.com/home?source=techiebuzz&status=Gmail &#8220;Undo Send&#8221; Duration Now Up to 30 Seconds http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FaFrRGp via @techiebuzzer" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Tweet This</a> | <a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/gmail-undo-send-duration-now-up-to-30-seconds.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Share on Facebook</a> | <a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/gmail-undo-send-duration-now-up-to-30-seconds.html&title=Gmail &#8220;Undo Send&#8221; Duration Now Up to 30 Seconds" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Save to Delicious</a> | <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/gmail-undo-send-duration-now-up-to-30-seconds.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Stumble This</a> | <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/gmail-undo-send-duration-now-up-to-30-seconds.html&title=Gmail &#8220;Undo Send&#8221; Duration Now Up to 30 Seconds" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Digg This</a> | <a href="http://www.reddit.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/gmail-undo-send-duration-now-up-to-30-seconds.html&title=Gmail &#8220;Undo Send&#8221; Duration Now Up to 30 Seconds" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Reddit This</a></div> <br /><div><strong style="font-size:11px;">TAGS:</strong> <span style="text-transform:uppercase;font-size:11px;"><a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/email" rel="tag">Email</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/gmail" rel="tag">Gmail</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/gmail-labs" rel="tag">Gmail Labs</a></span><br/> </small></div><div style="background:#E1E1E1; border: dotted 1px; padding:5px; margin-top:5px;font-size:11px"> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/gmail-undo-send-duration-now-up-to-30-seconds.html" title="Gmail &#8220;Undo Send&#8221; Duration Now Up to 30 Seconds">Gmail &#8220;Undo Send&#8221; Duration Now Up to 30 Seconds</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://techie-buzz.com" title="Techie Buzz">Techie Buzz</a> written by Pathik Shah on Sunday 22nd August 2010 11:36:06 AM under <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/category/tech-news" title="View all posts in Tech News" rel="category tag">Tech News</a>. The feature is definitely interesting and will allow users to quickly find documents and pages from the other services.</p><p>However, the feature does not seem to be working fully right now as my searches did not return results from my Google Docs account. Unlike HTTP, HTTPS data is encrypted before a transfer occurs. This makes data transfered through HTTPS hard to snoop on, and allows users a safer way to browse the web.</p><p>Gmail did have an option for users to use HTTPS as default, through a <a title="Articles about Gmail Labs Features" rel="tag" href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/gmail-labs" target="_blank">Gmail Labs</a> feature. Today, Google <a href="http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/default-https-access-for-gmail.html" target="_blank">graduated the feature</a> out of labs. This means that all Gmail users will now automatically start using HTTPS by default. Users have an option to disable HTTPS by default by visiting &#8220;Settings -&gt; Labs&#8221; and choosing &#8220;Don&#8217;t always use https&#8221;</p><p>However, HTTPS alone cannot save you from being hacked. There are several other ways in which you can protect your online accounts. The first rule is, NEVER click on links in emails sent by strangers. The second rule is, NEVER download content that are sent by strangers.</p><p>You can also make use of a Gmail Labs feature called <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-anti-phishing-key.html" target="_blank">Anti-Phishing Key</a>, which allows you to distinguish between legitimate and spam email. This feature will definitely come in handy, while using auto-completion for typing out email addresses.</p><h3>Why is this Feature useful?</h3><p>I have 7 contacts with the name Markin my email account, all of them have different email addresses. Now say, I want to send an email to Mark no 3, however instead of that, by mistake I use Mark no 2&#8242;s email address.</p><p><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto" title="gmail_wrong_bob_suggestions" border="0" alt="gmail_wrong_bob_suggestions" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images/posts/GmailOffersEmailNameSuggestions_B990/gmail_wrong_bob_suggestions.jpg" width="388" height="123" /></p><p>The new feature introduced by Gmail will display suggestions in the form of Did you mean, which is also shown in Google Search for mistyped words.</p><p><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="wrong_bob1" border="0" alt="wrong_bob1" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images/posts/GmailOffersEmailNameSuggestions_B990/wrong_bob1.png" width="196" height="191" /> <img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="wrong_bob2" border="0" alt="wrong_bob2" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images/posts/GmailOffersEmailNameSuggestions_B990/wrong_bob2.png" width="151" height="148" /> <img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="wrong_bob3" border="0" alt="wrong_bob3" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images/posts/GmailOffersEmailNameSuggestions_B990/wrong_bob3.png" width="155" height="149" /></p><p>This will definitely save you a lot of embarrassment, which may occur due to you sending out an email to the wrong person.</p><h3>How Does it Work?</h3><p>Gmail will basically study your habits and suggest you the alternatives based on the past emails you have sent to a group of people.</p><blockquote><p>If you normally email Bob Smith together with Tim and Angela, but this time you added Bob Jones instead, we&#8217;ll warn you that it might be a mistake. Note that this only works if you&#8217;re emailing more than two people at once</p></blockquote><p>The new feature is available under Settings -&gt; Labs &#8211; Don&#8217;t forget Bob. Once you activate this feature, you will start seeing suggestions, when you compose an email with 2 or more recipients.</p><p><a href="http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2009/10/new-in-labs-got-wrong-bob.html" target="_blank">New in Labs: Got the Wrong Bob?</a> [Official Gmail Blog]</p></p></p><p><em>Illustration via Geek and Poke</em></p> <img src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/132889389398jkaj9g1qj1abjgenscumbag1328893893ftn20gq0czuyq2dcudrl1328893893.fkyou" class="scumbags" /><div style="font-size:12px"> <strong>Share:</strong> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-introduces-did-you-mean-emailname-suggestions.html#commentrespond" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Comment on This Post</a> | <a href="http://twitter.com/home?source=techiebuzz&status=Gmail Introduces &ldquo;Did you mean?&rdquo; Email/Name Suggestions http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2F16sQmV via @techiebuzzer" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Tweet This</a> | <a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-introduces-did-you-mean-emailname-suggestions.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Share on Facebook</a> | <a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-introduces-did-you-mean-emailname-suggestions.html&title=Gmail Introduces &ldquo;Did you mean?&rdquo; Email/Name Suggestions" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Save to Delicious</a> | <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-introduces-did-you-mean-emailname-suggestions.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Stumble This</a> | <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url=http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-introduces-did-you-mean-emailname-suggestions.html&title=Gmail Introduces &ldquo;Did you mean?&rdquo; Email/Name Suggestions" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Digg This</a> | <a href="http://www.reddit.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-introduces-did-you-mean-emailname-suggestions.html&title=Gmail Introduces &ldquo;Did you mean?&rdquo; Email/Name Suggestions" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Reddit This</a></div> <br /><div><strong style="font-size:11px;">TAGS:</strong> <span style="text-transform:uppercase;font-size:11px;"><a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/email" rel="tag">Email</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/gmail" rel="tag">Gmail</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/gmail-labs" rel="tag">Gmail Labs</a></span><br/> </small></div><div style="background:#E1E1E1; border: dotted 1px; padding:5px; margin-top:5px;font-size:11px"> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/featured/gmail-introduces-did-you-mean-emailname-suggestions.html" title="Gmail Introduces &ldquo;Did you mean?&rdquo; Email/Name Suggestions">Gmail Introduces &ldquo;Did you mean?&rdquo; Email/Name Suggestions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://techie-buzz.com" title="Techie Buzz">Techie Buzz</a> written by Keith Dsouza on Tuesday 13th October 2009 01:20:32 PM under <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/category/featured" title="View all posts in Featured Articles" rel="category tag">Featured Articles</a>. But wait, we are all used to seeing the beta under the logo, how can you live without it, well the folks at Gmail thought about this, and added a <a title="Articles Tagged Gmail Labs on Techie Buzz" href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/gmail-labs" rel="tag">Gmail Labs</a> feature which will allow you to view the plain old Gmail Beta logo instead of the newer one.</p><p><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="gmail_back_to_beta" border="0" alt="gmail_back_to_beta" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images/stories/GmailLeavesBetaLongLiveGmailBeta_A6A2/gmail_back_to_beta.png" width="364" height="52" /></p><p>To enable it go to Settings &gt; Labs and enable the Back to Beta feature to view the old logo.</p><p>How long have you been using Gmail for?
