Gameloft’s Asphalt 6 Now Available For Free For Samsung Galaxy S II Owners

Last year, when I got my first ever-Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S, I was pleasantly surprised to find that SGS owners could download and play Asphalt 5 for free. The game had decent graphics, addictive gameplay and best of all, featured multiplayer mode over Wi-Fi which allowed me to play the game with my friends.

When I got the most popular smartphone of this year, the Samsung Galaxy S II, I expected Sammy to give more free games with the phone. After all, the Galaxy S II is a beast of a phone, and Sammy should have pre-loaded some games, which showed the true potential of the phone. However, I was pretty disappointed to find out that the Galaxy S II came bundled with 0 games. There were a lot of games listed for the SGS2 in the Samsung Apps store, but all of them were trial version.

Better late than never, Sammy has now finally made Gameloft’s popular Asphalt 6 game a free download for Galaxy S II owners. SGS2 owners can download the game for free via the Samsung Apps market on their phone.

Keep in mind that after installing the game from market, the game itself downloads a whopping 550MB+ of data from Gameloft’s server via Wi-Fi. So, make sure you have a stable and fast Wi-Fi connection along with enough juice in the phone to download the data.

N.O.V.A. 2 HD Hits the Android Market; Angry Birds Seasons Summer Pignic Update Released

Gameloft, which offers some of the most popular gaming titles on the Android Market, has released a new FPS based game N.O.V.A. 2 HD.

The N.O.V.A. 2 HD is the sequel to the original N.O.V.A. game, and like the original, features breath-taking 3D graphics. The game features more than 10 different maps, and also supports multi-player gaming over Wi-Fi as well as 3G.

At the moment, the game supports only a handful of Android handsets including the HTC Desire HD, Inspire 4G, Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab 7, and the LG Optimus 2X. The game does not support the older generation Qualcomm chipset powered handsets including the EVO 4G and the Nexus One.

Surprisingly, the game does not support two of the hottest Android phones at the moment   – the Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Sensation.   The game can be downloaded from the Android Market for $6.99.

In other gaming related news, Rovio has updated Angry Birds Seasons with a new Summer Pignic’ episode. The new update brings 15 new levels, with a summer theme as backdrop. With this update, Angry Birds Seasons now has a total of 105 levels. 105 levels to kill your productivity!

The game is already available on the Android Market, and can be downloaded from here.

Gameloft Releases March Of Heroes Trailer; First Unreal Engine Based Game For Android

Gameloft is one of the most popular gaming publisher for Android and iOS. The company offers some of the best gaming titles available for Android including the popular Asphalt 6, Call Of Duty and Spiderman.

Earlier, for some strange reason Gameloft did not release its games on the Android Market. Thankfully, the situation has changed now, and nearly all the Gameloft games are available on the Android market.

Now, Gameloft has released a trailer of an upcoming first-person shooter (FPS) game March Of Heroes for both Android and iOS. The game will be the first game for both the platforms (Android and iOS) to be based on the Unreal Engine.

Below is a trailer of the game :

From the trailer, the game definitely looks stunning! Since the game is based on Unreal Engine, expect most of the low to mid-range handsets not to be supported. At least, we Android users will have something which will be capable of pushing the hardware on our handset to its limits.

At the beginning of this year, Gameloft said that they are working on 4 games based on the Unreal engine for iOS and Android. So, gamers still have some more visually stunning games left to drool over.

Gameloft has not mentioned anything about the release date or the pricing of the game.

iPhone Games Sale: Gameloft Drops iPhone/iPad Game Prices to 99 Cents

Every once in a while some of the big gaming studios decide to drop the prices of their games to something which is really affordable. Earlier this year EA had dropped prices of their games to $.99 and it looks like Gameloft dropped their prices to 99 cents too today in a surprise sale.

Gameloft Games

Gameloft has dropped prices of popular games like Shrek Kart, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, Asphalt 5, Let’s Golf, Prince of Persia, UNO, Assassin’s Creed and more to 99 cents flat. You will find games for the iPhone, and on sale. Some of these games are really good and well worth the 99 cents being charged. In total, Gameloft has dropped the price of over 30 games for the iPhone and iPad today.

I certainly hate these kind of sales because I end up buying at-least 10 games. Now only if I could also find the time to play them all. Interested? Check out the entire list of games whose price Gameloft has dropped at this Appshopper page.

Download Hero Of Sparta For Android For Free

Remember the Gameloft Twitter Advent promotion under which the company made Dungeon Hunters for Android available as a free download for 24 hours? Today, continuing their Twitter Advent promotion Gameloft is giving away Hero Of Sparta game for Android as a free download for the next 24 hours. While the game is available for free download, the official page of the game still lists it for $4.99.

Users who want to grab their copy of Hero Of Sparta for free need to visit this link from their handset to download the game. On visiting the link from their handset, users will be prompted to download and install a 22KB 100% Free HD Game’ apk file.

The app   then opens up a webpage, which looks exactly like the page from where you downloaded the 22KB apk file, from where users can download the apk file of the game for free. The apk file of the game is 3.07MB big and after installing the game it downloads another 66MB of additional game data.

Here is a video of Hero Of Sparta in action :

Trying any other method/link to download the game may not prove successful given Gameloft’s crappy store. There is another twist to the tale as well here. Not all Android handsets are capable of running Hero Of Sparta. The selected handsets which are capable of playing Hero Of Sparta includes the Google Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S, Motorola Droid and the HTC EVO 4G. Readers can find the whole list of compatible devices here.

Need For Speed Shift And Spiderman Total Mayhem HD Games Hit The Android Market

It is a very well-known fact that the Gaming section on the Android Market hardly contains quality’ games. Yes, there are some quality games for Android like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja but that’s about it. Gameloft does offer some brilliant gaming titles for Android like Dungeon Hunter, Lets Golf HD and H.A.W.X etc. but sadly the company does not list its games on the Android Market. The company sells its games via its own store which is very very bad.

However, all this is soon going to change as EA has started releasing some quality’ games into the Android Market. Today, the company released the Need For Speed: Shift game into the Android Market for only $4.99. Earlier, NFS: Shift was available exclusively for a few Android handsets. EA also plans on bringing more high quality 3D games into the Android Market next year including NFL Madden 2011.

Here is a video of NFS: Shift in action on the Samsung Galaxy S -:

Need For Speed: Shift running on Samsung Galaxy S

Talking about Gameloft, the company has also released a brand new quality’ game for Android handsets Spider-man: Total Mayhem HD. Users can download the game from the Gameloft store for $4.99. However, looking at the pathetic state of the Gameloft store I would recommend users to stay away from purchasing this game.

Download Dungeon Hunter For Android For Free

Gameloft is known for making some game looking games for the iOS as well as for the Android platform. However, the company for some unknown reasons does not sell its games in the Android Market. Instead it does so via its own market (which is crap).

Due to this, not only do the sales of the game suffer but not many people know about their offerings. The company has some pretty impressive Android games like Asphalt 5, Assassin’s Creed and Hero Of Sparta.

Dugeon_Hunter_Android

Now, as a part of their Advent Twitter promotion Gameloft has made Dungeon Hunter for Android available as a free download for 24 hours. The company will be giving a surprise gift every day until Christmas so expect them to make a few more Android games available as a free download.

The clock is already ticking so users should quickly head over to Gameloft’s site and download their free copy of Dungeon Hunter.
