Gameloft Releases Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour For $6.99 On The Play Store

Gameloft — known for releasing games eerily similar to some popular gaming titles out there — has released Modern Combat 4 on the Play Store. The game is the company’s own copy of the popular Call Of Duty series for mobile devices. The game was released on iOS a few days ago, and was released on the Play Store just a few hours ago today.

Arm yourself for FPS action!

The #1 Action FPS game is back on smartphone with a new chapter to push the boundaries of mobile gaming even further. In the wake of nuclear warfare, the only chance to avoid global devastation is in the hands of the few elite soldiers who must track down and rescue the world’s leaders from a frighteningly familiar terrorist group.

Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is a typical Gameloft game with below-average controls — at least on smartphones, stellar graphics, a $6.99 price tag and requires a whopping 1.8GB+ of free space on your device. Considering that the game downloads the additional file from Gameloft’s own server, making the 15-minute Play Store refund window useless.

The game will work on any Android 2.3 Gingerbread+ devices, but considering the quality of graphics, make sure you have a decently powerful smartphone or tablet before spending $6.99 on it.

Last Day Of Google Play 25 Cent Sales Begin; Includes Nova Launcher Prime And Horn

Today is the last day of Google’s 25 cent sale in lieu of the company celebrating 25 billion app downloads on the Play Store. The apps and games on sales in the last four days ranged from pretty awesome to some pretty lesser known games and live wallpapers. Some notable apps that were worth buying and went on sale in the last four days included Camera Zoom FX, Where’s My Perry, Cut The Rope, Endomondo Pro and Cogs.

Today is the last day of the sale, and thankfully, it contains some really popular apps that very rarely go through a price reduction or on sale.

Below is the full list of apps on sale today -:

Some must buy apps in the list include Nova Launcher Prime, Horn, Great Big War Game and the Dark Knight Rises. Make sure you have a decently powerful Android device with tons of storage space before you buy The Dark Knight Rises and Horn though. The latter is especially optimized for Tegra phones, and was only recently released on the Play Store with ravishing reviews.

As an Android device owner, I must say these yearly sales from Google are a great way to get people to buy apps. At such a tempting price, it just becomes hard to resist some quality apps in the Play Store.

The Dark Knight Rises Official Game Released On The Play Store; Dead Trigger Now Free To Play!

The Dark Knight Rises hit the theaters’ this Friday and has been wowing people with its storyline, script and action scenes. The Dark Knight Rises marks the end of the Batman trilogy from Christopher Nolan, and the movie could not have had a better ending.

To fill your thirst for some more Batman action post the movie, Gameloft released the official game of the movie – The Dark Knight Rises – on the Play Store and iOS AppStore this friday.  The Android version of the game is around 1.8GB in size, and costs $6.99. Like any other Gameloft game, TDKR has stunning graphics and a above average gameplay and controls. When the game was initially released, it did not work with most of the popular Android devices including the Nexus 7 and Galaxy S3. Thankfully, since then Gameloft has updated it to add support for both the devices.

Another welcoming news for Android gamers is that Madfinger has finally released their huge first update for Dead Trigger. They also added a surprise with this update, by making the game completely free to play compared to its earlier price of $0.99. The game still has in-app purchases for weapons, but this does hamper your progress in the game at any cost. The iOS version of the game still costs $0.99 though.

Gameloft’s N.O.V.A 3 Now Available For Android; Includes An Inbuilt FPS Benchmarking Tool

Gameloft is one of the biggest publishers of gaming titles on the Google Play market. The company has released some massively popular games for Android including Asphalt series, N.O.V.A, Men In Black, and Modern Combat 2.

Today, the company has released the successor of N.O.V.A 2 for Android – N.O.V.A 3 (duh!). Gameloft is known to make “mobile copies” of some big and popular game, and this sci-fi shooter from the company is no different. The game borrows heavily from Microsoft’s/Bungee’s Halo series.

Four months have passed since Kal ruined the Volterites’ plans by sabotaging their war factories, and stopping the extraction of the Judger Artifacts. However, following the assassination of President Folsom, the government surrendered the colonies to the Volterite Protectorate in order to prevent civil war.
Kal Wardin has been laying low since Folsom’s death, but now he has received a desperate plea from Yelena to come to Earth. Once again, the hero must rise to save mankind!

Even then, the game packs in all of the Gameloft’s signatures including decent graphics, an additional download size of nearly 2GB that makes the 15min refund time on Google Play useless, somewhat complicated control and an okayish price tag of $6.99. The game also packs in 6 different multiplayer modes, and an FPS benchmark for graphics and gameplay, which is a first for any Android game.

Gameloft’s portfolio includes everything from racing blockbusters like the Asphalt series and action games like Nova and Backstab to sports games like NFL and Let’s Golf. Gameloft Releases Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation In The Android Market

Last night, Gameloft released the much awaited Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation on the Android Market.  The iOS counterpart of the game was released quite a few weeks ago, and Gameloft had promised that they will release the Android version of the game before this year ends.

Modern Combat 3 is a first person shooter set during a war, and  consists  of more than 13 mission campaign along with a multiplayer mode. The graphics of the game look very real, and are a level above the previous games released by Gameloft. Sadly, the controls of the game are typical of Gameloft, which makes playing this game a bit tough. Modern Combat 3 supports all the recent Android phones which have a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM.

Just a word of caution though, the game requires a whopping 1.37GB of free space in the storage card of your phone. So make sure you have adequate free space in your handset before buying the game.

Modern Combat 3 Fallen Nation is available for $6.99 in the Android Market and can be purchased from here.

Shadowngun and Tintin Lands on the Android Market; 360 and Winamp Get Major Updates

Android gamers, here is some good news for you. One of the most anticipated games for the Android platform, Shadowgun finally landed in the Android Market a couple of days ago. The game comes from the developer of Samurai II – Madfinger Games – whose name is associated with quality games.

In Shadowgun, users play the role of John Slade, who is the Galaxy’s most infamous bounty hunter. The role of John’s (user’s) is to hunt down and kill Dr. Edgar Simon. The game has amazing graphics, probably among the best you will ever see in an Android phone.

The sad part is that the game only supports Tegra 2 devices for now. Non-Tegra 2 handset owners need to wait for a few more weeks, until Madfinger releases a version that is compatible with all other Android devices.  Here  is the market link of Shadowgun.

In other gaming related news, Gameloft has released Tintin HD on the Android Market as well. As the name suggest, the game is based on the recently released movie, based on Tintin. The game has a typical Gameloft feel to it, and like most other games from the company, the controls of the game are pretty tough. The graphics of the game is also like any other Gameloft game.

The game is not yet available in all regions of the world, so users need to wait until Gameloft releases the game worldwide. Alternatively, they can buy the game from Gameloft’s website as well.

In some Android app news, two popular apps – Winamp and 360 – also got some major updates. The new version of 360 brings a portrait mode, and a higher resolution panorama mode, along with a  high quality and normal quality mode. The upload speeds of Panorama have also been decreased, along with the usual stability improvements. 360 for Android can be downloaded from  here.

The new updated version of Winamp for Android brings quite a lot of new features including syncing with Winamp for Mac, and touch sensitive album art gesturing.

With this app, Winamp also gets an in-app Pro version worth $4.99. The pro version will give users access to a 10-band graphic EQ, customizable home screen, FLAC support, Reply gain, and much more. Winamp for Android can be downloaded from  here.

Block Breaker 3 Hits The Android Market; Google Goggles and Go Launcher Ex Updated!

Gameloft, one of the most popular gaming publishers for Android, has released a new game in the Market, Block Breaker 3. The game is unlike any the usual pin-ball game. Users can get power-ups, trigger switches, and blast through gateways to score more points. The game also has 8 different modes to suit the style of various gamers.

Block_Breaker_3

Like any other game from Gameloft, the game has stunning graphics. The game also supports a wide-variety of Android handsets and tablets. Block Breaker 3 can be downloaded for $1 from the Android Market.

In other Android related news, Google has recently released an updated version of its Goggles app on the Android Market. The new version of Goggles automatically scans photos clicked by you, and provides information about it. Due to privacy concerns, this feature is disabled by default. Goggles users can enable this feature from the Settings menu of the app.

The Go Developers team has also released an updated version of Go Launcher Ex on the Market. The update fixes some bugs, and brings 8 new effects for the app drawer. There is also an option to change the launcher’s orientation to landscape mode permanently.

I have been using Go Launcher Ex for a couple of weeks now, and will highly recommend it over the other two popular launchers for Android, Launcher Pro and ADW Launcher Ex. It’s been ages since Launcher Pro last got an update, and I am not even talking about the highly talked about and promised re-write of LP from the developer.

The only area where Go Launcher Ex cannot compete with ADW Launcher Ex/Launcher Pro is themes. However, as Go Launcher Ex gains popularity, I am pretty sure existing themes/icons for ADW Launcher and LP will be ported to it. Go Launcher Ex can be downloaded from the Android Market for free.
