Samsung has gone ahead and bumped up the clock speed of the dual-core processor on the upcoming Galaxy S II to 1.2 GHz.

Samsung is all set to announce the 2011 edition of the Galaxy S – the Galaxy S Plus. The handset will be powered by a 1.4 GHz single core Snapdragon processor.

The original Samsung Wave has got a less than fully functional build of Android 2.2 Froyo.

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Player 4 and 5, which were first revealed at MWC 2011. They will be launched in Spring and should be priced closer to $199-$299

Samsung has enabled auto-focus while video recording on the Galaxy S. Users can update the camera firmware of their handset by downloading an app from the ‘Samsung Apps’ store.

An Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread based firmware has leaked on the Internet for the Galaxy S. The firmware is not an official one and is an early beta firmware.

Rumors are floating around on the Internet that the Samsung Galaxy S will get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in March. However, the phone is NOT going to get the update anytime soon.

The folks over at Pocket Now have managed to get their specs of the hotly anticipated successor to the Samsung Galaxy S – the Galaxy S 2 – thanks to Expansys.

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Gio and the Galaxy Mini. It will launch all four at MWC 2011. They are budget Android devices which come with Android 2.2 Froyo.

Samsung will launch the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S on February 13 at Barcelona. It will likely have a dual core processor, 1 GB RAM and a 4.0 inch + SuperAMOLED Plus display with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Samsung Galaxy S series of handsets have been selling like hot cakes all over the world. However, the phones have their share of issues including poor GPS signal and ‘lag’ or ‘stalling’ issue. The modding community at XDA came up with many different ‘lag fixes’ but all these fixes had one issue or another.
