Steelers who will be playing in Super Bowl XLV can look forward to the support of their fans who have build a really cool gadget which makes use of Twitter to twirl a towel whenever someone uses #Steelersnation in a tweet, or twerribletowel too as the creators of the gadget told me.
The gadget looks for the above words in tweets and then uses an old fan motor to twirl the towel whenever it comes across it. The gadget is built by Steelers fans who are technology enthusiast. You can watch the Towel twirl live in action by visiting http://twerribletowel.com/. The site will display your Twitter handle and show you the number of twirl’s it has made.
Quite interesting and amazing. Want to try this out? Go ahead and open http://twerribletowel.com/ and then tweet anything with the hashtag #steelersnation to get it rolling. Have fun.
Earlier last Sunday, Apple released a new set of ads which showed off their new partnership with Verizon with an advertisement which also featured AT&T. The catch line of the ad was "Two is better than one".
However, it looks like some smart person doesn’t like AT&T and has gone ahead and created a parody of the advertisement where the ad takes apart AT&T’s connection issues on the iPhone and ends with a catch line "One is better than the other". Well, considering the problems faced by AT&T customers you might say that this ad would preferably have been better.
If you are an AT&T customer and hate their service and are looking to switch to Verizon, they will be starting to ship the iPhone 4 starting February 10, pre-order starts on February 3rd and the unlimited data plan will be costing $30.
In the meantime have some fun watching the "Two is Better Than One" ad parody below.
Click here if you can’t watch it. Oh and yes, if you haven’t watched the original ad you can watch it below too.
My first ever introduction to computers was through MS DOS, where I spent countless hours creating nested directories, making it a pain for my professors to delete. I continue to use DOS even now and will continue to do it for a long time.
Thanks to Reddit, I came across a very cool site. A site which emulated MS DOS in a browser, complete with commands et al. Visiting the site brought back some nostalgia in the form of remember the good old floppy drive among other things.
Other than looking like MS DOS, the site works pretty well too allowing you to type in commands which actually produce output. The site was built by Michael Wilson, and this is what he has to say about it:
This is the hub site of Michael Wilson. It’s designed (ironically) to look like a 1980s single floppy-drived, green-screened, UNIX-loving computer of yesteryear. If you’ve got this far, you probably know what you’re doing. If you’re still confused type some of the commands below or click on the links above to visit my REAL sites like Facebook and Twitter.
If you haven’t heard it yet you should do it at-least once. It’s a fascinating way to understand how a computer can do something as good as a human being.
Google Translate apparently dishes out music in a beatbox format when you try to convert "pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk pv zk bschk pv zk pv bschk zk bschk pv bschk bschk pv kkkkkkkkkk bschk" from German to German, however the fun is only when you hit the Listen button
Don’t believe me? Go ahead to this link and hit the listen button then. Have fun.
Well you can have more fun with beatbox, try this out "pvz zkz pvz pvz zkz pvz zkz kzz zkz pvz pvz pvz zkz pvz zkz zkz pzkz pzkz pvzkpkzvpvzkz kkkkkkz bsch "
We haven’t done Friday Fun in quite a while, but I seriously come across a lot of websites which range from funny to making you laugh out real loud. I ‘ll try to pass on many such websites in future Friday fun episodes.
This week’s website is a funny take on the iPhone‘s autocorrect feature which results in several people typing and sending out what they did not intend to. The website is called Damn You Autocorrect. Doesn’t sound funny? Just take a look at couple of examples below:
However, the director of the movie has not fully created the movie out of facts. So how would the Social Network movie pan out if it were based on facts? No better director than Mark Zuckerberg right? Well if you said yes, here is a funny take on what the Social Network movie would actually pan out if Mark Zuckerberg himself directed it courtesy Business Insider.
So what do you think? Was this better than the original Social Network movie?
Sometimes translations come up with funny words in another language, and it looks like the same happened with the Samsung Galaxy Tab which was shipped in Romania.
As you can see from the screenshot above, the home button on the Galaxy Tab has "Porn" written under it, well it is not exactly Porn but a shortened form of "Pornire" which means start and was abbreviated as "Porn.".
Wonder if there were no English speaking people in Samsung Romania?
Fo’ shizzle under my nizzle, yo yo! Alright, alright my rapping skills are subpar in that I believe even Shakespeare with his iambic pentameter can give me a run for his money with rapping skills. But this is not about my rapping skills it’s about yours dear wannabe rapper! (Not you, Hopesh)
No, really. The internet is filled withlame attempts to capture the essence of rap in a nerdy blogpost, so you can’t really blame me for trying (and failing).
According to the SecurityWeek, the contest which runs till the 30th of this month will be quite a ball:-
“If you have the skills and bust out the phattest rap, you’ll receive round-trip airfare for two to Los Angeles along with two days and two nights hotel stay to meet with Snoop’s management and learn more about his business. You’ll also get two tickets to a Snoop Dogg concert and a new laptop pimped out with Norton Internet Security 2011.”
So… get started right away with this friendly wikihow page that tells you how to write a rap song, promote yourself, develop your own style, and more.
We all know how hard it has been for people after British Petroleum or BP as we like to call them have been lagging at their cleanup act or as many of you might want to call sucking up at the oil they spilled, however, there is always a need to take a break from the disaster and have some fun.
Though this is not a funny situation at all, it is definitely OK to take a break and have a few laughs at the irony of all the things happening while you are not friending BP on YouTube.
Here is a really funny parody created on the BP Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico called BP Spills Coffee, have fun and watch how they are trying to contain the Coffee Spill.
Oh and before you leave, according to BP, you are responsible for your own spills, so please do not leave the pumps unattended at all times.
