Sprint’s EVO 4G LTE Gets Android 4.0.4/Sense 4.1 Software Update

After rolling out the Android 4.0.4/Sense 4.1 update for the AT&T One X, the International One X and the HTC One S, the Taiwanese maker has started rolling out the Android 4.0.4/Sense 4.1 update for the Sprint EVO 4G LTE.

The update for the Sprint variant of the One X bumps the software version to 2.13.651.1.710RD, and brings along a minor in the Android OS and Sense version of the handset as well. The Sense 4.1 update for the EVO 4G LTE brings with it much needed performance and stability improvements, along with the removal of some unneeded 3D transitions to speed things up.

Like the update for the AT&T and International One X, post this update, EVO 4G LTE owners can re-map the capactive Recents app button on their handset to act as a Menu key or vice-versa. The update also contains many other minor new tweaks and goodies, but first and foremost brings a major improvement in the performance of the device.

Sprint is rolling out the OTA update in batches so EVO 4G LTE owners might need to wait until a couple of weeks before the software update notification hits their handset.

Sprint’s EVO One X Leaks In Pictures; Comes With a Kickstand!

Back at MWC, HTC re-invented itself and tried to regain its lost marketshare by announcing the HTC One series. The One series from HTC consists of three handsets, the One X, One S and the One V. All the three phones cater to the different needs, budgets and sizes of people, but have three things in common – an amazing camera, authentic sound with Beats Audio and an awesome build quality.

The One X and the One V have already hit the retail stores of quite a few major markets in various regions of the world. The early reviews of the One X also suggest that the phone is a very decent handset, with a stellar SLCD2 screen that runs circles around the HD Super AMOLED screen on the Galaxy Nexus, and that is saying something!

Nevertheless, like the previous two flagships from HTC, it looks like Sprint is all set to launch its EVO version of the One X. While the final name of the handset is still not known, the folks over at Droid-Life managed to spend sometime with the handset and they came impressed with it. The EVO One from Sprint will sport similar specs as the European version of the One X, except that it will come with a LTE radio to support Sprint’s upcoming LTE network. The EVO One is going to the first phone from HTC to support’s Sprint’s upcoming LTE network. Like the EVO 4G, the EVO One will also sport a kick-stand at its back, and will come with red accents to give the handset a sporty look.
