In fact, there are several websites such as bancomicsans.com and more which show their hatred towards it. Why? <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comic_Sans#Opposition" target="_blank">Read here</a>.</p><p>However, I haven&#8217;t seen any application or website as such dissing the use of the font. However, it looks like Skype has a hidden Easter egg which disses the usage of the Comic Sans font.</p><p align="center"><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Skype Comic Sans Easter Egg" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images2/keith/Skype-Easter-Egg-for-Comic-Sans-Font_A168/skype_easter_egg.png" alt="Skype Comic Sans Easter Egg" width="563" height="147" border="0" /></p><p>What&#8217;s the Easter Egg? Well, Skype gives users an option to change the font of the IM &amp; SMS window through the &#8220;Options&#8221; menu. If you change the font to Comic Sans, it changes the smiley available in the message area to a frowning face.</p><p align="center"><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Skype Smiley Face for Fonts" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images2/keith/Skype-Easter-Egg-for-Comic-Sans-Font_A168/skype_smile_smiley.png" alt="Skype Smiley Face for Fonts" width="632" height="136" border="0" /></p><p align="left">Changing the font back to anything else changes the smiley back smiling face. That is very sneaky Skype, guess they have a lot of Comic Sans haters in their programming department. What do you think? Slowly the entire page will be filled up with snow. Not just that, you can also write your name after the page is completely filled with snow. Here&#8217;s a screenshot of what I wrote (Techie Buzz) -</p><p><img class="aligncenter" title="Let It Snow - Google Easter Egg" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images4/joel/let-it-snow-google.png" alt="Let It Snow - Google Easter Egg" width="620" height="422" /></p><p>After the page is filled with snow, you can simply click the defrostbutton to clear the screen, and the snow begins to fall again.</p><p>Google brings in something new and innovative on every occasion, and this time it has simply amazed us. Everybody loves how Google keeps presenting these little Easter Eggs. Recently, we saw some new Easter Eggs, like <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/do-a-barrel-roll-google-search-fun.html" target="_blank">do a barrel roll</a>, tilt, and askew.</p><p>When you perform the &#8220;do a barrel roll&#8221; search at Google.com, the search page will flip over and rotate just like a plane would do while it is doing a barrel roll. Google is known for its impressive  <a title="All the Google Doodle's" href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/google-doodle" target="_blank">Google Doodle</a>  however, there are several other interesting features in Google search which are  <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tips-and-tricks/dyk-thursday-some-more-awesome-google-search-tricks.html" target="_blank">hidden as Easter Eggs</a>  and sometimes not so hidden like the  <a href="https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=xx-pirate" target="_blank">Google Pirate Edition</a>.</p><p>Google is also celebrating <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanukkah" target="_blank">Hanukkah</a>! Type the word Hanukkahon the Google search form and you&#8217;ll see a special surprise. Hanukkah is also known as the Festival of Lights. It is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. It is observed for eight nights and days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar.</p><p>We&#8217;ve compiled a <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/collections/google-hidden-easter-eggs.html" target="_blank">list of Google&#8217;s best hidden Easter eggs</a> and gags. Hope you&#8217;ll like them all.</p> <img src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/1328894542qguewcmjs0l4776jiascumbag1328894542uj84hgdy4thubedk8oo1328894542.jpg" class="scumbags" /><div style="font-size:12px"> <strong>Share:</strong> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/google-let-it-snow-easter-egg.html#commentrespond" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Comment on This Post</a> | <a href="http://twitter.com/home?source=techiebuzz&status=Type &#8220;Let It Snow&#8221; on Google for a Christmas Surprise http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2Fto0oL7 via @techiebuzzer" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Tweet This</a> | <a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/google-let-it-snow-easter-egg.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Share on Facebook</a> | <a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/google-let-it-snow-easter-egg.html&title=Type &#8220;Let It Snow&#8221; on Google for a Christmas Surprise" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Save to Delicious</a> | <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/google-let-it-snow-easter-egg.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Stumble This</a> | <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/google-let-it-snow-easter-egg.html&title=Type &#8220;Let It Snow&#8221; on Google for a Christmas Surprise" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Digg This</a> | <a href="http://www.reddit.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/google-let-it-snow-easter-egg.html&title=Type &#8220;Let It Snow&#8221; on Google for a Christmas Surprise" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Reddit This</a></div> <br /><div><strong style="font-size:11px;">TAGS:</strong> <span style="text-transform:uppercase;font-size:11px;"><a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/easter-egg" rel="tag">Easter Egg</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/google-news" rel="tag">Google News</a></span><br/> </small></div><div style="background:#E1E1E1; border: dotted 1px; padding:5px; margin-top:5px;font-size:11px"> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/google-let-it-snow-easter-egg.html" title="Type &#8220;Let It Snow&#8221; on Google for a Christmas Surprise">Type &#8220;Let It Snow&#8221; on Google for a Christmas Surprise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://techie-buzz.com" title="Techie Buzz">Techie Buzz</a> written by Joel Fernandes on Saturday 17th December 2011 10:30:26 PM under <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/category/tech-news" title="View all posts in Tech News" rel="category tag">Tech News</a>. An Easter egg is a hidden feature that the developers or &#8220;geeks&#8221; have intentionally put in their software, often for their own amusement, and when it comes to Google developers, they have implanted several Easter eggs in their software, ranging from Google Earth to Google search to <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/google-reader" target="_blank">Google Reader</a>.</p><p>We had earlier compiled a <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tips-and-tricks/dyk-thursday-some-more-awesome-google-search-tricks.html" target="_blank">list of awesome Google Search tricks</a>, including the hoax page that Google had created on <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/google/dyk-thursday-some-amazing-hoax-pages-that-google-has-created.html" target="_blank">April Fool&#8217;s Day</a>. We also saw that searching for the phrase &#8220;<a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tech-news/do-a-barrel-roll-google-search-fun.html" target="_blank">do a barrel roll</a>&#8221; became a viral sensation last week, when users found about it and posted tweets and blog posts. However, if you liked &#8220;do a barrel roll&#8221; Easter egg, then I&#8217;m sure you would love the other hidden ones as well. And if you haven&#8217;t liked it, here&#8217;s something which will make you laugh &#8211;   <a href="http://www.stuckonseo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/simon-cowell-rich-300x220.jpg" target="_blank">Click here</a><strong></strong></p><p>So here&#8217;s a list of Google&#8217;s best hidden Easter eggs and gags -</p><h3>Reader Ninja</h3><p>Go to <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/google-reader" target="_blank">Google Reader</a> and type in the famous <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami_Code" target="_blank">Konami code</a>: up up down down left right left right B A. This will bring up a ninja on the left side of the Reader with the text &#8220;Ninja!&#8221; written in the search box. Interestingly, this works with the new Google Reader design.</p><p><img class="aligncenter" title="Google Reader Ninja" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images4/joel/google-reader-ninja.jpg" alt="Google Reader Ninja" width="427" height="600" /></p><h3>Askew</h3><p>Type the word &#8220;<a href="http://www.google.co.in/search?q=askew" target="_blank">askew</a>&#8221; in Google&#8217;s search box and voila! This is more like a command which tilts your search results slightly towards the right. It&#8217;s pointless, but it&#8217;s all fun.</p><h3>Steve Irwin wrestling with a Crocodile</h3><p>Do you remember the late wildlife expert and adventurer Steve Irwin? Of course you should. Everybody knows about him. Well, go to Google Earth and spin around to the waterfront side of the <a href="http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=2ac1d07d86aa7fdc45e81db730974dc&amp;hl=en&amp;ctyp=3dbl" target="_blank">Sydney Opera House in Australia</a>. What do you see? Well, its Steve Irwin wrestling with a crocodile.</p><p><center><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6V5TESgCGT4" frameborder="0" width="640" height="480"></iframe></center>Did you know &#8211; 3D buildings in Google Earth have been designed and sketched by individual designers?</p><h3>Chat with Martin in Space</h3><p>Google Earth 5 allows users to explore the Red Planet, Mars and along with that, you can chat to locals too. Well, sort of. Type &#8220;Meliza&#8221; into the search box and you will be transported to Meliza&#8217;s dusty domain, where you can strike a conversation with the chat bot. However, Meliza isn&#8217;t <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/humor/best-funny-responses-from-apples-siri.html" target="_blank">as funny as Apple&#8217;s Siri</a> ;)</p><p><img class="aligncenter" title="Chat with Martin in Space" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images4/joel/meliza-google-mars.jpg" alt="Chat with Martin in Space" width="550" height="434" /></p><h3>Google Earth Flight Simulator</h3><p>Google has this very interesting Easter egg hidden in Google Earth. Using the <a href="http://earth.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=guide.cs&amp;guide=22385" target="_blank">flight simulator</a>, you can fly around the globe in Google Earth by simply pressing Ctrl + Alt + A. This activates the flight simulator and allows you to fly an F-16 fighter jet anywhere in the world. This, however, was originally inserted as an Easter egg but now has become one of the official features of Google Earth.</p><p><img class="aligncenter" title="Google Earth Flight Simulator" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images4/joel/google-earth-flight-simulator.jpg" alt="Google Earth Flight Simulator" width="600" height="462" /></p><h3>Play Snake on YouTube</h3><p>Snake is one the most popular mobile phone games, which you can also play on Google&#8217;s YouTube player. When you are viewing a video on <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/youtube" target="_blank">YouTube</a>, press the up arrow key when the video is loading or buffering. However, Gmail has a <a href="https://mail.google.com/mail/#settings/labs" target="_blank">Labs</a> feature called &#8220;old Snakey&#8221;, which allows you to play the game inside Gmail.</p><p><img class="aligncenter" title="Play Snake in YouTube" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images4/joel/play-sanke-youtube.png" alt="Play Snake in YouTube" width="600" height="449" /></p><p>There are several other Google  Easter  eggs, which are mostly known. Google. If you use Google to search for any football related news or scores, Google displays all the group information and match timings, and possibly scores once the tournament kicks off.</p><p><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="Google FIFA 2010 Easter Egg" border="0" alt="Google FIFA 2010 Easter Egg" src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/images/postimg/FIFA2010WorldCupGoogleEasterEgg_1508B/google_fifa_2010_easter_egg.png" width="484" height="87" /></p><p>However, in addition to that, if you scroll down to go through the next page, you will see a <strong>Google Easter Egg</strong>. Instead of the regular Gooooogle image, you will see a Goooooal image as shown in the image below.</p><p>Try this out, it works for any football related queries.
