Note: This is a release candidate release of WordPress 3.0, though this may be stable, it is highly recommended not to try this out on a production blog.

[Windows only] There is no dearth of online storage websites which allow you to upload files and share them with others. In addition to that, users also have an option to upload videos to sites like YouTube and Veoh.
However, while downloading those files users have to go through a barrage of wait times and ads, if you hate those, you can now download the files without having to wait and also batch download several files at once from multiple sites.
The Megaupload Downloader allows you to download files from popular sites like Megaupload, Rapidshare, Sendspace, Depositfiles, 4Shared, Mediafire, ZShare, Easy-share, Uploaded.to and more. In addition to that it also has support for video sites like YouTube and Veoh.
Techie Buzz Verdict
Overall Megaupload Downloader does the job very well, however, new users might get a bit confused with the interface because of the default use of the Italian language. You will have to change the language settings to English manually the first time.
The download interface is pretty neat with tooltips for the icons the app has. You can also easily add downloads and queue and pause them with the software. And to top it this is a Freeware and Open Source Software.
Overall it is a pretty good software if you are looking to download files from the sites listed above and more which have bells and whistles attached.
Rating: 2.5 / 5

BestBuy will provide the service under the brand name CinemaNow. The service will allow users to download latest movies to their connected TV sets, Blue-Ray players and computers at a pay-per-download price. The service is expected to launch by the end of the month and will be powered by Sonic Solutions. Rentals for new movies will be around $2-$4 while complete purchase would be somewhere between $10 to $20 depending on the title.
Unlike Netflix, the service will not offer any subscription based plans. The CinemaNow.com website by Sonic that currently already offers movie downloads will also be relaunched under the new ownership with a much more user-friendly interface. This will put BestBuy in direct competition with Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu, fighting out a market which hasn’t been able to bring in much money yet. Walmart tried a similar thing recently by acquiring Vudu but hasn’t been able to make a big impact in the industry yet.
The only two things that can help BestBuy take over this market is offering latest titles and providing the service on a wide array of devices. Theoretically, BestBuy shouldn’t have a problem with either of these factors and if BestBuy can offer the service on a large number of devices that would make it different than services like Netflix and Hulu that only work on a limited number of devices.
Being downloaded as I write this, the free PlayStation media manager from Sony, MediaGo’s new update promises quite a ton of useful changes. The 91.2MB update contains these new features:-
- The update allows users to download games/comics without having to connect their PSPs (PlayStation Portables) to the computer first. An amazing plus point because having to connect your device to MediaGo every time you download something from PSN (PlayStation Network) just looks silly.
- Users can download and playback videos from the PSN and view them on their computers (in standard definition, as opposed to what one would see when they used their PlayStation 3)
- Downloads can be queued something that was sorely missing in the previous versions and can be automatically sorted once downloaded. Very neat!
So who all have started downloading MediaGo?
