DivX Version 1.0 Beta For Symbian Released

The folks over at DivX Labs have officially released version 1.0 of the DivX mobile player for Symbian. This new version is compatible with Symbian S60 v3 and v5. However, the software still has a beta tag to it. Various reports on the internetdivx suggest that the desktop class DivX files have such a high bitrate that the Nokia phones are not able to handle. Nokia phones are usually powered by an ARM11 processor running at 369 MHz for most S60v3 phones and at 434MHz for all S60v5 phones and some S60v3 phones.

Only the latest Symbian phones from Nokia are powered by an ARM11 600 MHz processor. Nevertheless, the ARM11 processor is out-dated and its high time Nokia ditches them for something else.
