Dell Launches The Android Powered Venue In India For Rs.29,990

Last week, we posted that, the Dell’s latest Venue smartphone might launch soon in India. And now, Dell finally launched its Android powered Dell Venue smartphone. This handset runs on the Android 2.2 (FroYo) operating system and it comes with a 4.1 inch AM-OLED display with curved Corning Gorilla Glass, 1GHz processor and much more. This handset allows you to access more than 200,000 apps from the Android Market. Check out the complete specs below.

Dell Streak 7 to Launch on February 2?

The Dell Streak 7 was one of the many tablets announced at CES 2011. It was leaked way before CES though. It is one of the best Android tablets which will be coming to us in 2011. Dell is one of the more reliable tablet manufacturers, along with Samsung, Motorola and LG.

The Dell Streak 7 will compete with the Motorola Xoom, the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the LG G-Slate.

It has a 7 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display and is powered by a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. It has 1 GB RAM and comes with 16 GB internal storage. It will come with HSPA+, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It will run Android 2.2 with the Stage UI, the same as the Dell Streak smartphone. It also has a 5 MP camera as well as a secondary 1.3 MP camera. We don’t know the price of the tablet yet.

We already knew that T-Mobile was going to launch the Streak 7 some time in Q1 2011, but what we didn’t know was that it was going to be launched as early as February 2. According to TMOnews, T-Mobile will launch the Dell Streak 7 on February 2. T-Mobile also plans to launch the LG G-Slate tablet soon. Even Samsung is apparently working on a successor to the Galaxy Tab with refreshed hardware specs and 4G support.

Dell Venue Announced; To Be Sold Unlocked In The States

Beside the Streak 7 tablet, Dell also announced the Dell Venue smartphone at the CES 2011. The Dell Venue handset has a 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED display with Gorilla glass on top of it. The phone is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm QSD825 processor and packs 512MB of RAM. The back of the phone sports an 8MP camera.

The usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack are also present. The Venue runs on Android 2.2 with Dell’s Stage UI on top of it. The phone also has a physical camera shutter button. Dell did not mention any other relevant information about the handset except that it will be sold unlocked in the U.S.

They did not mention anything about the pricing and the availability of the Venue as well.

Dell Streak 7 Announced; Headed To T-Mobile

Dell has announced the Streak 7 a 7-inch tablet heading to T-Mobile. The Dell Streak 7 sports a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor with both the cores running at 1GHz. The 7-inch WVGA display of the Streak 7 is covered with Gorilla glass.

The 7-inch tablet also features HSPA+ 4G support along with the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot.

The tablet has 16GB of onboard storage space.   The front of the tablet sports a 1.3MP camera for video calling while the back sports a 5MP camera.

The Streak 7 runs on Android 2.2 with the Stage UI of Dell on top of it. Sadly, T-Mobile did not mention the pricing of the tablet. The Streak 7 is expected to hit the stores in the coming weeks’.

Dell Venue Coming To India In January

The Android powered Dell Venue smartphone, which was recently launched in Hong Kong, is currently displayed at the Dell India’s homepage. It comes with a 4.1 inch touchscreen display, 1GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera and so on. This handset runs on the Android 2.2 (FroYo) Operating System and it allows you to access around 200,000 apps from the Android Market.

Dell Venue features a 4.1 inch AMOLED display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution, 1GHz processor, Android 2.2 Operating System, 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and 4x Digital Zoom, Video and Audio Record, Dedicated Camera Key, Virtual KeyboardUSB Mass Storage, Wi-Fi, AGPS, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, Micro-USB, 3.5 mm headset jack, 1 GB internal memory, 32 GB expandable memory and a 1400 mAh battery.

The price, release date and availablity of this handset is still unknown, but the powerful smartphone is expected to launch in early January in India. The price of the phone is expected to be around Rs.23,000.

Dell Streak 7 Android Tablet Coming at CES 2011

Dell is apparently planning to showcase a new 7 inch Android tablet at CES 2011. It will be called the Dell Streak 7. It will be a bigger, better version of the Dell Streak and will compete with the Galaxy Tab by Samsung and the Motorola Android tablet which will be launched at CES too.

It will run Android 2.2 Froyo and comes with the Stage UI, the same as the original Streak, but with some improvements.

The guys at Engadget have gotten their hands at some promotional material for the Dell Streak, the treatment of its television commercial, which seems to quite interesting.

Each year Google releases a “Year in review” called Google Zeitgeist with the help of which it showcases some wonderful data through the aggregation of millions of search queries that the search engine receives every year. This year, Google Zeitgeist for India had some nice revelations with the IRCTC (railway ticket booking) continuing to top the charts of the year-on-year fastest rising bracket for search queries in India.

The top three most popular searches among Indians on the web during the year 2010 were Songs, Facebook and Google. Amongst the fastest rising people, Indians searched for British actress Aruna Shields and this year’s new Bollywood sensation, Sonakshi Sinha and other favorites from Bollywood like Zarine Khan, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan.

O2 Branded Dell Streak Android 2.2 Update Rolling Out Now

Last month, Dell started rolling out the Android 2.2 update for its tablet-cum-handset crossover the Streak. However, Dell was rolling out the update for only un-branded Streak handsets at that time. Now, Streak owners in the UK who own an O2 branded Streak will get their share of Froyo love starting from today.

Dell Venue Pro Priced at $150; Ships on December 14

Almost all the devices announced at the Windows Phone 7 launch have been released, with the exception of the Dell Venue Pro. When it was first announced, the Venue Pro was captured a lot of attention, thanks to its vertical QWERTY slider design, gorgeous display and great hardware specs. However, some things are just not meant to be true.

There were no further announcements by either Dell or Microsoft, about the release details of the Venue Pro. Surprisingly, it made an appearance on Dell’s website yesterday before it was taken down.

It will be priced at $500 without a contract and at $150 witha 2 year T-Mobile contract. The preliminary shipping date is said to be December 14, so you should probably get it before Christmas if you order it now.
