Verizon Announces The BlackBerry Curve 9310 Smartphone

BlackBerry recently announced a new smartphone in its popular Curve family, the BlackBerry Curve 9310. It is the predecessor of the BlackBerry Curve 9320 smartphone. This handset will be exclusively available for the Verizon Wireless subscribers in the US. The BlackBerry Curve 9310 runs on the BlackBerry 7.1 Operating System. This handset is specially targeted at youngsters who wants to stay connected with their friends and family on the go.

BlackBerry Curve 9310 is an entry-level smartphone packed with BlackBerry’s iconic QWERTY keyboard, 2.44 inch display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution, 3.2 megapixel camera and so on. This handset features a dedicated BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) key as well as popular social networking apps such as Facebook for BlackBerry and Twitter for BlackBerry.

Apart from the specs mentioned above, this handset features a 3.5mm headset jack, Stereo FM radio with RDS, 3G Connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, microUSB 2.0, A-GPS, MicroUSB 2.0, Mobile Hotspot support, VZ Navigator, up to 70 hrs of music playback time, up to 18 days of stand-by time, up to 8 hrs of talk-time and a 1450 mAh battery.

The BlackBerry Curve 9310 can be purchased for just $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year service agreement. This handset will be available from July 12 at Verizon’s official website, followed by Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in the coming weeks. The owners of this device will also need to subscribe to the Share Everything plan starting at $80 per month for unlimited talk, unlimited text messaging and 300 MB of data.

Earlier this year, Research In Motion (RIM) unveiled the new mid-range smartphone in its popular Curve family, the BlackBerry Curve 9320. This handset runs on the BlackBerry 7.1 Operating System. BlackBerry recently launched this device for the Indian customers. The BlackBerry Curve 9320 comes with a 2.44 inch display, QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera and much more. This handset features a dedicated BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) key as well as popular social networking apps such as Facebook for BlackBerry and Twitter for BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Curve 9320 comes with a price-tag of Rs.15,990 (approx. $290). This handset will compete with the BlackBerry Curve 9380 and BlackBerry Curve 9360 in the Indian market.
