Last week, Reliance Communications launched its entry-level tablet in India for just Rs.12,999. Now, Beetel, a part of the Bharti Group, has joined the bandwagon. Last month, we posted that Beetel, will soon launch its Android powered tablet in India. And, within a month, the company went ahead and launched the affordable Beetel Magiq tablet. This device runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) Operating System and it comes with a 7 inch touchscreen display, 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor, etc.

The Beetel Magiq tablet comes with a price-tag of Rs.9,999 (approx. $220). This tablet is Rs.3000 cheaper, compared to the Reliance tablet, but it runs on the old Android Froyo OS. The company also announced that, the Beetel Magiq will be soon upgraded to the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. It also comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Arriving In India On August 10

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the successor of the Samsung’s popular tablet, the Galaxy Tab. This device was first announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona. To compete with the new iPad 2, Samsung went ahead and completely redesigned the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The new Galaxy Tab 10.1 was showcased at the CTIA 2011. This tablet is already available in most of the countries. Even, Verizon recently launched the 4G LTE version of this tablet exclusively for its customers in the US.

This device was expected to release during mid-June in India. Most of the Indian customers, are still waiting for the launch of this device. Acer Iconia Tab 4G A501 Up For Pre-Order At Amazon For $499.99

Acer announced the Android powered Acer Iconia Tab A501 at the CTIA 2011. This tablet runs on the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System and features a 10.1 inch touchscreen display, 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra dual core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera and more. Later, AT&T announced the 4G version of this tablet, the Iconia Tab A501. This tablet is already available in most of the countries including UK and India. AT&T customers in the US are still waiting to get this device. But, the wait is finally over. Amazon has finally started taking the pre-orders of the Acer Iconia Tab 4G A501 in the US.

Verizon 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 To Be Available From July 28

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the company’s third tablet device and the successor of the original Galaxy Tab. This device was originally launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona, but after the launch of Apple iPad 2, Samsung went ahead and completely redesigned the device. Samsung finally launched the re-designed Galaxy Tab 10.1 at CTIA show. To avoid confusion, Samsung renamed the old Galaxy Tab 10.1 to Galaxy Tab 10.1v. This device is already available in US, but Verizon recently announced the availability of 4G LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 exclusively for its customers.

Motorola Launches The Xoom Android Honeycomb Tablet In India

Motorola finally launched its Android powered Motorola Xoom tablet in India. This device was announced at the CES 2010 in Las Vegas and it was later showcased at MWC 2011 in Barcelona. Motorola Xoom is the first tablet, which runs on the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System. Motorola is selling both the Wi-Fi only version as well as the Wi-Fi + 3G version of this tablet in India.

Over 500,000 Android Devices Activated Per Day

We have a good news for the Android fanboys as well as Android smartphone and tablet users. Google’s Andy Rubin recently tweeted that, more than 500,000 Android devices are being activated each day and the rate is growing at 4 percent week over week. Back in August, he said that 200,000 Android devices are being activated everyday and after 4 months the number was increased to 300,000.

Last month, Google announced at the Google I/O that, the company is activating over 400,000 Android devices each day. And now, within a month the number of devices being activated jumped to 500,000. Andy Rubin’s tweet says,

Last month, Google also announced that, there have been 100 million Android activations. Currently, there are more than 310 Android devices in 112 countries with 36 OEMS, 215 Carriers and 450,000 Android developers. Even the Android Market now has more than 200,000 free and paid apps.

500,000 Android devices are activated each day, which means that nearly 350 Android devices are activated per minute, 3.5 million devices each week, 15 million devices every month and about 180 million per year. HTC Flyer is the company’s first tablet device. The HTC Flyer was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona. Most of the Android powered tablets launched in 2011, runs on the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System, which is specially designed for tablet devices. But, the HTC Flyer runs on the old Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) OS.

To solve this problem, HTC earlier said that, the HTC Flyer will get the Android 3.0 Honeycomb update, shortly after launch. We have a good news for the folks, eagerly waiting to get the HTC Flyer in India. Flipkart, a popular online retailer in India, is currently taking pre-orders for the HTC Flyer in India.
