LG Re-Enters The Tablet Market With G Pad 8.3

LG finally re-entered the tablet market with the new G Pad 8.3. This device will be showcased later this week at the IFA 2013 trade show in Berlin. LG G Pad 8.3 is the second member of the LG’s premium G Series family of smartphones and tablets. It comes with the new KnockON feature, which allows you to turns the device on and off just by tapping the display twice. Apart from that, it also comes with Slide Aside, which lets you multitask by simply sliding currently open apps to the side using a three-finger swipe.

LG G Pad 8.3 features a 8.3 inch WUXGA display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 16 GB internal memory, 2 GB RAM, and a 4600 mAh battery. This device measures 216.8 x 126.5 x 8.3 mm and weighs 330 grams.

LG G Pad 8.3 will compete with the new Nexus 7, Galaxy Note 8.0 and the upcoming iPad Mini 2. This tablet will be available in black and white colors. The LG G Pad 8.3 will go on sale in North America, Europe and Asia in the fourth quarter of 2013. The price of this device is expected to be revealed later this week. Verizon Motorola Xoom LTE Finally Gets The Android 4.1.2 Update

Back in 2011, Verizon launched the Motorola Xoom 4G LTE tablet. This device was shipped with the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System. Later, it was updated to Android 3.2 OS. Last year, the unlocked Motorola Xoom 4G owners received the much awaited Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Nearly 10 months after the roll out of original update, Verizon went ahead and started pushing out the Android 4.1.2 update for Verizon subscribers who are still using the Motorola Xoom 4G tablet.

The latest update is numbered JZO54M and it brings all the Jelly Bean goodies such as Google Now, Project Butter, smart keyboard, improved voice search, enhanced notifications, offline text-to-speech, improved power management, advanced expandable notifications, improved Face Unlock and much more. Back in April, Samsung announced the 7 inch Galaxy Tab 3. Now, the South Korean tech giant introduced two new members in the Galaxy Tab 3 series – the 8 inch and 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 3. Samsung recently announced the new Galaxy Tab 3 tablet. This device is the successor of the popular Galaxy Tab 2 and it looks strikingly similar to the recently launched Galaxy Note 8.0. The Samsung Galaxy Note 510 is finally up for pre-order in India. This device is nothing but the same Galaxy Note 8.0 which was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. Samsung is already known for changing the name of its tablets before selling it in India. Previously, the South Korean tech giant released the Galaxy Note 10.1 in India as the Galaxy Note 800.

Asus Fonepad Launched In India For Rs.15,999

Asus recently launched the Fonepad tablet in India. It comes with 3G Connectivity and voice calling features of a smartphone on a 7 inch tablet. Asus Fonepad packs a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor and it runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS. According to the manufacturer, this device offers up to nine hours of battery life. The Asus Fonepad comes with SuperNote lite app for drawing as well as for creating handwritten notes and Office Online app for Microsoft Office-compatible document editing.

Nexus 7 32GB Wi-Fi-Only And 3G Launched In India

Last week, Google officially started selling the Nexus 7 tablet in India. However, the 32 GB Wi-Fi variant as well as the 3G variant of this tablet were missing from the Play Store. Within a week, Asus went ahead and launched these variants in India. Nexus 7 will be shipped with the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. Nexus 7 32GB Wi-Fi and 3G will not be available via Play Store. These devices will be sold through Asus retail partners.

Samsung Announces The Galaxy Note 510 (Note 8.0) In India

Today, Samsung announced the new Samsung Galaxy Note 510 at the Samsung Forum event in Hyderabad. Don’t get confused with the name of this device. Galaxy Note 510 is nothing but the same Galaxy Note 8.0 which was unveiled earlier this week at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. Samsung India has a long history of launching Android tablets in India with different names. Last year, the Galaxy Note 10.1 was introduced as Galaxy Note 800 in the Indian market.

Last month, Asus introduced the entry-level Memo Pad ME172V tablet. Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer launched the same tablet in India. This device looks strikingly similar to the extremely popular Asus Google Nexus 7. However, the specs of Asus Memo Pad is not on a par with the Nexus 7. This tablet runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. It comes with 8 GB of internal storage and packs a MircoSD card slot for those who want to store movies, music and large eBooks.
