MTS Launches The HTC Pulse In India For Free On Contract

Most of the smartphones sold in the US and the UK comes with a 24 months service agreement. Sadly, in India, the customer has to pay the full amount before purchasing a smartphone. Because of this problem, most of the Indians are not able to purchase hi-end smartphones. To solve this problem, MTS recently launched the HTC Pulse smartphone in India. HTC Pulse is already available in the US on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless. This handset is originally called as “HTC Droid Eris”. It runs on the old Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system. Customers in India can get this handset for free on contract. Check out the complete specs after the break.

HTC Pulse comes with a 3.2 inch TFT LCD touchscreen display 320 x 480 pixels resolution, 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7600TM processor, Android 2.1 (Eclair) OS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 5 megapixel with auto focus, 512 MB flash ROM, 288 MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate and A2DP, Internal GPS antenna, 32 GB expandable memory, 8GB MicroSD card included, up to 373 hours stand-by time, up to 214 minutes of talktime and a 1300 mAh battery. This handset measures 11.3 x 5.55 x 1.3 cm and weighs 120 grams.

You can easily get the HTC Pulse smartphone for free with a 12 months service agreement. You will need to pay Rs.1500 every month, for the next 12 months. You will also get 1500 mins talktime (Local + National), 1500 SMS (Local + National) and 1500 MB data usage every month. If you are not willing to pay the amount every month, then you can directly purchase this handset for Rs.16,000 and choose the MTS plans, that suits your needs. We hope more operators will join the bandwagon soon and offer hi-end smartphones and tablets in India on contract.

Acer Liquid Metal Launched In India For Rs.20,500

Acer Liquid Metal was announced by the company, back in October. This handset has been finally launched in India. Acer Liquid Metal runs on the Android 2.2 (FroYo) operating system and it comes with a 3.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display, 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera and so on. This device have also won the Japan’s Good Design Award for its well designed product feature.

Nexus One Will Only Be Sold To Developers

, the futuristic phone which was unveiled by Google in January 2010 will no longer be available for sale to the general public. Google has decided to step out of the hardware business and continue working on the platform instead.

According to a recent blog post on the Google Nexus One blog, Google just received a new shipment of Nexus One. However, the new Nexus One phones will be available only through a "partner for sale" offering to registered developers.

This would mean that developers who get their hands on the new Nexus One will get and will also be the first to get the which is expected to be released in October 2010. If you are an Android developer, you can purchase a Nexus One by visiting the Android Market Publisher site and logging into with your developer account. For the rest, this is the end of the road of the Nexus One.

Update: Nexus One will not be available to general public in USA, other countries may still get the Nexus One.

Android Bonanza: Milestone, X10, Dext and Backflip Coming to India

India has one of the largest cellphone market with over 500 million active subscribers, sadly it has been largely ignored by some of the biggest mobile phone producers, other than Nokia.

However, that is going to be a thing of the past. It was recently confirmed that the iPhone 3GS will be making its debut in India through Airtel soon, the dampener though is that the iPhone 4G will be released in US in next few months.

India Android Phones

Leaving that disappointment aside, there is some really good news for fans who will be seeing some of the best Android based phones coming to Indian markets in near future.

Some of the Android handsets which will be released in the Android market include the Motorola Milestone,  Xperia X10, Motorola Backflip and the Motorola Dext. There are also some rumors that some of the best HTC Android handsets will be released in India soon.

Right now, there is no confirmation on the release date and price of these handsets, but we will definitely keep you updated when more information becomes available.
