Orange UK To Launch Intel Medfield Powered Santa Clara On May 31

Back in February, Intel and Orange announced the new Santa Clara smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona. The Lava Xolo X900 was the first smartphone which runs on the Intel Medfield processor, while Santa Clara is the second smartphone to sport the same processor. Earlier it was rumored that Santa Clara is just the codename of the device and the real name will be revealed during the launch. However, it seems that Orange will go ahead with the same name.

The Lava Xolo X900 is already available for purchase from the last 2 months. Now, Orange will launch the much-awaited Santa Clara at an event in the UK on May 31. The company has already started sending out the press invites. This handset will be exclusively available to the Orange subscribers in the UK and France.

Sony Xperia Sola Launched In India For Rs.20,449

Earlier this year, Sony Mobile Communications unveiled the unique Sony Xperia Sola smartphone. It is the company’s first device to feature the unique “Floating Touch” technology. This technology allows the users to navigate the web by hovering their finger above the screen, without actually touching the screen. Once the link is found, it can be highlighted and a simple tap will load the page.

This handset was already up for pre-order at major online retailers from the last couple of weeks. Today, Sony Mobile Communications officially launched this amazing handset in India. This device runs on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. However, Sony will roll out the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update shortly after launch. AT&T Unveils The Samsung Galaxy Appeal QWERTY Slider Phone

Samsung recently announced the new Samsung Galaxy Appeal slider phone. This handset is exclusively available for the AT&T GoPhone subscribers in the US. The Samsung Galaxy Appeal is a prepaid Android smartphone, which will be first available in Walmart stores, followed by AT&T retail outlets. It runs on the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. This handset is not expected to get the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update in the future.

The Samsung Galaxy Appeal is the first smartphone offered with AT&T’s GoPhone service that features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. HTC Finally Unveils The Android 4.0 Powered Desire C Smartphone

Yesterday, we posted the leaked press shot and specs of the HTC’s upcoming Desire C smartphone. Today, HTC finally announced the entry-level HTC Desire C smartphone in the UK. This handset runs on the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. It allows you to access more than 400,000 apps from Google Play Store. The HTC Desire C will be available for Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Media, Three, O2 subscribers in the UK.
