Earlier this month, HTC announced two new mid-range smartphones, the HTC Desire V and Desire VC. These handsets runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. The HTC Desire V is the company’s first smartphone with dual-SIM capabilities. HTC has not yet released this smartphone in any of the major markets, but we have good news for the folks living in India. Flipkart, the popular online retailer has already started selling this handset, even before the company has officially launched it in India.
HTC Desire V features a 4 inch HVGA display, sporting a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1 GHz Cortex-A5 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System, HTC Sense 4.0 UI, 5 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G Connectivity and much more.
Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, Beats Audio, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Stereo FM radio with RDS, 25 GB free cloud space from Dropbox for 2 years, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0 and a 1650 mAh battery.
Sadly, this handset does not come with a front-facing camera for video calls. The HTC Desire V is currently available in polar white and stealth black colors. Flipkart is currently selling this device with a price tag of Rs.21,999 (approx. $390). You will also get an 8 GB Sandisk memory card for free with the purchase of this device.
We know that the price is too high and the device does not offer any extraordinary features. We would recommend you to wait for the official launch, since the device will be available at a lesser price at your local retail store. Alternately, you can buy the BlackBerry Torch 9860, Motorola Atrix 2 or Intel powered XOLO X900 which are available in the same price range. You can even get the powerful Samsung Galaxy S II or Nokia Lumia 800, if you are willing to spend a few thousand more. To get this handset, head over to this page at Flipkart.
