One of the most popular mobile tower based game for iOS Fieldrunners HD has finally been released for Android devices. The game has been made by an Indie game developer Sub Atomic Studios and was among the most popular games for iOS in 2010.
Like any other tower defense based games, the premise of Fieldrunners is simple. Users need to protect their tower from enemy invasion by using various machines and soldiers. The more enemies you kill, the more money you earn, which lets you buy powerful machines.
The only twist in the game is that it is the player, which decides the route to be taken by the enemies. Whether the player wins the game or not, ultimately depends on the route taken by him. Even though the game has a very simple storyline, it is insanely addictive. I have been playing Fieldrunners HD non-stop on my phone, right from the moment I installed it.
The graphics of the game look exactly like its iOS counter-part, and I had no performance issues on my Android phone Samsung Galaxy S II.
Fieldrunners HD is available for free at the Amazon AppStore and for $1 at the Android Market for the first 24-hours only, though. After that, the game will retail for $2.99.
