LG Optimus F5 And Optimus F7 Announced; Comes With Android 4.1, 4G LTE

Last week, LG unveiled 3 new smartphones – Optimus L3 II, Optimus L5 II and Optimus L7 II. After a couple of days, LG announced the powerful Optimus G Pro in its home country. Now, the South Korean mobile phone manufacturer went ahead and unveiled two smarphone under the new F series – the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7.

According to the manufacturer, the Optimus F Series is designed to bring a premium user experience and the speed of 4G LTE to a mass audience. Thankfully, both of these devices are packed with a powerful battery and pretty decent specs. LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 will be shipped with the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System out of the box.

LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 comes with the upgraded QSlide, which allows users to open two apps at the same time, both in full screen mode. Users can change the size, position and transparency of QSlide apps according to their preferences. The worldwide rollout of the Optimus F5 will begin in the second quarter in Europe, followed by the Optimus F7 in selected markets. Acer Announces The Entry Level Liquid Z2 Smartphone

Next week, major mobile phone manufacturer’s will unveil their latest smartphones and tablets at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. However, that didn’t stop manufacturer’s like HTC and LG to announce their smartphones days before the event. Acer has just became the third company to join this bandwagon.

Acer recently unveiled the entry-level Liquid Z2 smartphone. This handset runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Opeating System and it packs some basic specs including a 3.5 inch display, 1 GHz processor and more. The in-built 5 megapixel camera launches in just 1 second and offers panoramic and multi-angle modes along with continuous shooting (up to 99 shots). This handset will be showcased next week at the MWC 2013.

Acer Liquid Z2 features a 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display, sporting a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, 1 GHz single-core processor, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, Dual-SIM capabilities, Acer Breeze UI, 3 megapixel or 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, geo-tagging, Wi-Fi 801.11 b/g/n, 3G Connectivity and so on.

Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, Stereo FM radio with RDS, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, 4 GB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, 512 MB RAM, Google Play Store, A-GPS, Accelerometer and a 1300 mAh battery. This handset measures 110 x 62.5 x 12.25 mm and weighs 110g.

The Acer Liquid Z2 will go on sale in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Ukraine followed by Russia, UK and Italy in the coming days. Samsung Announces WiFi-Only Galaxy Camera

Last year, Samsung launched its first Android powered digital camera. This device offers various connectivity options including 3G as well as 4G LTE in select markets. The Samsung Galaxy Camera was shipped with the newer Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. Today, Samsung went ahead and announced the new WiFi-only Galaxy Camera.

As the name suggest, the latest variant of Galaxy Camera won’t pack a cellular radio. You will need to find a stable Wi-Fi connection before uploading your photos to Facebook, Instagram and other social networking sites. Apart from that, there are no major changes in the specs of this device.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD Goes On Sale In India For Rs.13,990

Last month, Micromax unveiled the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered Canvas HD smartphone in India. This handset packs some powerful specs including a 5 inch HD display as well as a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. However, the Indian mobile phone manufacturer surprised everyone with its ultra cheap price tag. Today, Micromax finally launched this smartphone in India. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Wi-Fi Goes On Sale In India For Rs.13,900

Samsung Galaxy Pop Announced In South Korea; Quad-Core Version Of Galaxy Premier

Back in November, Samsung unveiled the Android powered Galaxy Premier smartphone for international markets. Today, the South Korean manufacturer launched this smartphone in its home country. However, the device has been renamed from Galaxy Premier to Galaxy Pop. Samsung has also upgraded the dual-core processor to quad-core processor. Apart from that, there are no major changes in the specs of this device.

I’m sure some of you might get confused with the previously launched Android Gingerbread powered Galaxy Pop. However, the new Galaxy Pop (SHV-E220S) looks strikingly similar to the Galaxy S III smartphone and runs on the newer Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. This device will be available across all three major carriers – SKT, LG U+ and KT in South Korea.

Samsung has already announced the international variant of the Galaxy Grand smartphone. Earlier this week, the South Korean manufacturer has even launched this device in India. Today, Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Grand for its home market. However, this variant is slightly different from the international variant. The Samsung Galaxy Grand will comes with a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and VoLTE connectivity, instead of 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 3G connectivity. Sadly, there is no change to the disappointing screen resolution.
