AMD Unveils the Athlon II X2 250 and Phenom II X2 550 Dual Core Processors
Gadgets News AMD today launched 2 new Dual Core CPU’s, the Athlon II X2 250 and the Phenom II X2 550. The former runs at 3GHz while the latter runs at 3.1GHz and features an unlocked multiplier. Both the processors are compatible with the AM2+ and AM3 sockets, but AM2+ Motherboard owners need to upgrade their BIOS before they can use these processors. AMD announces a new Integrated GPU called ‘E4690′
Gadgets News AMD’s ATI Radeon E4690 will be the fastest Integrated GPU when launched. The Integrated GPU has 512Mb of GDDR3 memory running at 700 MHz, and supports Dx 10.1, Shader Model 4.0, UVD 2.0 and OpenGL 3.0. ATI’s E4690 is the first integrated GPU to support Dx10.1. Read More »
AMD “Istanbul†makes its debut earlier than expected
Gadgets News AMD today launched their new high end server Class 6-Core Processor “Istanbul†which is based on the same architecture used by AMD 45nm ‘Shangai’ Processor’s. The new Processor from AMD also has a new technology called ‘HT Assist’ which helps in reducing the traffic which occurs when the Processor searches for the shortest path to the data. AMD also states that the new “Istanbul†Processors are 30% faster in Performance per watt category, and overall are 40% to 50% faster than their predecessor. Read More »
