Acer Liquid Metal Launched In India For Rs.20,500

Acer Liquid Metal was announced by the company, back in October. This handset has been finally launched in India. Acer Liquid Metal runs on the Android 2.2 (FroYo) operating system and it comes with a 3.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display, 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera and so on. This device have also won the Japan’s Good Design Award for its well designed product feature.

Acer Liquid Metal features a 3.6 inch curved touchscreen display with 800 × 480 pixels resolution, 800 MHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.2 (FroYo) OS, Breeze UI, Wi-Fi, 3G Connectivity, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, HD (720p) video recording, Dolby Surround technology, EQ profiles, Dynamic Bass Boost, Push Mail, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, 3.5mm audio jack, MicroSD card slot, 32GB expandable memory, 8GB MicroSD card included, GPS with A-GPS and a 1500 mAh battery.

Acer Liquid Metal is available in three different colors – Silver, Brown and Tiffany Blue. The phone also supports DLNA and Mobile AP. This handset comes with a price tag of Rs.20,500.

Acer Iconia Smart Announced; Features A 21:9 Aspect Ratio

Acer just announced the Iconia Smart at the on-going MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona. Like the Dell Streak, the Iconia Smart is a mash-up of a tablet and a smartphone.

The Acer Iconia Smart sports a 4.8-inch display with a resolution a HXGA (1024×480) resolution. The phone has a wide aspect ratio of 21:9 and also features Dolby surround sound technology.

The handset will have a unibody metal casing and will be available only in silver. The Iconia is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor along with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. The back of the phone sports an 8MP camera with a   LED flash while the front of the phone houses a 2MP camera. The camera at the back of the device will be capable of recording videos in 720p HD resolution.

The usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, DLNA and a mini-HDMI port are also present. The handset will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Acer’s Breeze UI v4 on top of it. The phone also supports Flash 10.1.

Sadly, Acer did not mention anything about the pricing and the availability of the handset.

Acer Announces The Acer Liquid Mini Smartphone

Recently, we posted that, Acer announced the beTouch E210 QWERTY Phone, and now the company announced another touchscreen phone, the Acer Liquid Mini at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas. This handset is powered by the Android 2.2 (FroYo) operating system, which allows you to access more than 200,000 apps from the Android Market. Acer Liquid Mini is DLNA certified, which means that, you can enjoy content from your computer on your phone.

Acer Liquid Mini features a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display with 480 x 320 pixels resolution, Android 2.2 (FroYo) OS, 600 MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor, HSDPA support, DLNA connectivity, Wi-Fi, 5 megapixel camera with 480p video recording, Bluetooth, GPS, stereo FM radio, 512MB RAM, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, up to 6.5 hours of talk time, up to 20 hours of stand-by time and more.

This handset will be available in 5 vibrant colors – jet silver, royal blue, piano black, lime green and light pink. It allows you to view and edit popular office files (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF) and send them through your work email with support for Microsoft Exchange. Acer Liquid Mini will be available from April 11 in the UK. The price of this handset has not been announced yet.

Acer Announces beTouch E210 QWERTY Phone

Acer recently announced the Android powered beTouch E210. This handset runs on the Android 2.2 (FroYo) operating system and it comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and an optical trackpad. Acer beTouch E210 is the tenth device in the Acer’s beTouch series of phones.

Acer beTouch E210 features a 2.6-inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution, 416 ST-Ericsson PNX6715 MHz processor, Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS, full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, 3.2-megapixel camera, music player and more.

Other features include a 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card slot, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, GPS, micro-USB, optical trackpad, Stereo FM Radio, Digital compass and a 1300mAh battery. This handset measures 115 x 62.5 x 11.5mm and weighs just 109g.

This handset is available in two colors – silver and black. Acer beTouch E210 will be released in the UK on March 11th. The price of this handset has not been announced yet.

Acer Announces the Iconia Tab A500 Android Tablet

Acer has just revealed a new Android tablet – the Acer Iconia Tab A500. It’s a 10 inch Android tablet which likely runs Android 2.2 Froyo with a custom Acer UI shell (Acer UI 4.5) on top.

It has a 10.1 inch multitouch touchscreen display and is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 platform with a dual core 1 GHz processor. It also sports a gyroscope as well as HDMI out.

At just 13.3 mm, it’s quite slim and looks great. It comes with 4G LTE connectivity and will be bundled with a Verizon Wireless 4G data plan. Acer is targeting it at gamers, touting the gyroscope and the 3D gaming capabilities.

The pricing details aren’t out yet and we also don’t know when it will be launched. Keep checking this post, we will soon update it with images of the Acer Iconia Tab.

This handset runs on the Android 2.2 OS and it comes with the Acer’s Breeze UI. If you live in the US, then we have a good news for you. The Acer Liquid Metal is expected to be available soon on the airwaves of AT&T and T-Mobile.

This handset was expected to be available from this month in the UK, but it was not launched on time due to some unknown reasons.

Acer Announces Two New Android Tablets

At the official PR event today, Acer announced two new Android tablets and an Android smartphone. The company will be launching these new tablets in April 2011, along with the new 4.8 inch Android smartphone.

The first tablet will have a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It will come with a 5 MP camera as well as a secondary HD camera for video calls. It will be powered by a dual core 1.2 GHz processor and will offer Flash 10.1 and HDMI support.

The other tablet will sport a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen display with the same resolution – 1280 x 800 pixels, and will be powered by a dual core 1 GHz processor. It wil comes with HDMI and Flash support too and will support 10 point multitouch.

Both the tablets will possibly sport Android 2.3 Gingerbread, or Android 3.0 Honeycomb (Android for Tablets), if it is launched by 2010.

Acer Unveils New 4.8 Inch Android Smartphone

Acer has announced a new Android smartphone which sports some really awesome hardware specifications. The new Android smartphone will sport a 4.8 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a droolworthy resolution of 1024 x 480 pixels. It will be powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and will presumably come with more than 512 MB RAM.

It will also have an 8 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash as well as a secondary 2 MP camera for video calling. It also packs in HSDPA 14.4 MBps connectivity and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP. It is a Dolby certified phone with HDMI support.

It is easily the best Android smartphone announced yet, in terms of both form and function. No pricing details were released for this “100% phone and 100% tablet”, but it will be launched in April 2011. It will most probably run Android 2.2 Froyo or Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Acer Liquid E Android 2.2 Update Out Now

Acer_liquid_eAcer is a newbie in the mobile industry. The first few Android based handsets from the company did not manage to set the sales chart on fire. However, Acer is still providing support to all those people who showed faith in the company and brought their Acer Liquid E handset.

The testimony to this is the fact that Acer has released the Android 2.2 update for the Liquid E. As for now, the update is available only in Canada for the carrier branded Rogers and Fido Liquid E handsets.

The update is not in the usual OTA (Over-The-Air) form. Users need to download the update and install it on their phone manually. Acer has provided pretty detailed steps on how to install the update so hopefully users won’t face any problems while installing the update.

Acer Liquid Metal Unveiled; Runs Android 2.2 With Breeze UI On Top

After many previous failed attempts at making Android handsets, Acer is back with another handset the Liquid Metal. The Acer Liquid Metal sports a 3.6-inch curved touchscreen with a resolution of 800×480. The phone is powered by the latest generation Snapdragon processor MSM7230 running at 800MHz. The handset also sports the usual Wi-Fi n, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS and HSDPA. The back of the phone is made up of metal and also sports a 5MP camera with Auto-focus and LED flash. The handset is capable of recording videos in 720p resolution. The Liquid Metal runs on Android 2.2 with Acer’s Breeze UI running on top of it. The phone also supports DLNA and Mobile AP.

The phone will be available in two colors Silver and brown for £299 including VAT. The Acer Liquid Metal is expected to hit the retail store sometime in Mid-November.

Acer Liquid Metal: Another New Android Phone

Acer hasn’t seen a lot of success with its Android smartphones, but it certainly is trying hard.

Details of a soon-to-be-released smartphone by Acer, the Acer Liquid Metal, powered by the Android OS have surfaced on the internet.

The new Acer Liquid Metal seems to be a stylish new device by Acer which will run Android 2.2 Froyo. It will have a Qualcomm MSM 7230 800 MHz processor with 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. It will support up to 32 GB microSD cards and will have Acer’s custom UI.

It will presumably have a 5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash and also has a stereo FM radio with RDS. The display is a 3.6 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

It will sport the basic connectivity options – GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP. It will be officially announced soon.

Acer To Delay Tablet Launch; Waiting for Android 3.0

Acer Android TabletThere has been a flurry of news related to Android tablet launches in the past week. Samsung, Motorola, Asus, Acer are all planning to launch their Android tablets soon.

Earlier, Acer announced that it will be launching its Android tablet by the end of 2010. The rumored Acer tablet was supposed to run Android 2.2 Froyo and had a 10 inch touchscreen display.

However, now it seems that Acer is holding out for the launch of Android 3.0. This will delay the tablet launch to the first quarter of 2011. Android 3.0 Gingerbread will sport a revamped stock UI and will support much higher display resolutions. It will also offer much better performance.

Even Motorola is supposedly waiting for the Android 3.0 launch to start shipping its Android tablet with Gingerbread.

Acer is still expected to launch a Windows 7 based tablet right on schedule, in 2010.

Acer E110 beTouch: India’s Cheapest Android Phone

The Acer beTouch E110 was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, earlier this year. There hasn’t been any major announcement about it since; but it has just been spotted at Flipkart.

It is available for Rs. 8999 which makes it India’s cheapest Android phone. The pricing is really smart and it has some good hardware which makes it a good deal. With the Acer E110 beTouch, Android is now creeping into Symbian’s traditional stronghold of sub 10k smartphones.
