Sony Ericsson Vivaz Gets A Firmware Update – R2EA023

Sony Ericsson has just rolled out a new firmware update for their Symbian running multimedia oriented handset the Vivaz. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz runs on the old and out-dated Symbian S60v5 OS and features a 3.2-inch resistive screen. Sony Ericsson VivazThe main selling point of the phone is the 8MP camera at its back and its 720p HD video recording with continuous auto-focus. The firmware update is numbered R2EA023.

From the above change-log it is clearly visible that this firmware update is aimed at improving the performance and stability of the device. Vivaz owners can update the firmware of their handset by using the Sony Ericsson Update Service software. However, users are recommended to make a backup of their data before proceeding with the firmware update as a firmware update will wipe the phone clean of all data.

It looks like Sony Ericsson have something up their sleeves. The Japanese company has put a countdown timer on their website with the Smarter is comingtagline. Below the countdown timer is the image of a mysteriousSony Ericsson Xperia device. According to GSMArena, this mysterious Xperia device is none other than the Xperia X10.

The folks increased the brightness of the image in a photo editing software, and compared the picture to an Xperia X10. The similarity between the two devices were more than enough to confirm that the mysterious device is the Xperia X10. Maybe Sony Ericsson is talking about the Android 2.1 update for the Xperia X10 here? After all, the update to the Android 2.1 OS will bring with it tons of new features to the X10. The Android 2.1 update will surely make the Xperia X10   smarter.

Sony Ericsson has already promised 720p HD video recording, DLNA and improved Timescape and MediaScape with the Android 2.1 update.   The company promised to release the update sometime in Q3 of this year. We will come to know about this in 13 hours from now. Keep patience until then folks!

HTC Desire Gets Official Froyo Update

Today, HTC in a press release has finally announced the roll-out of Froyo update for theclip_image001 Desire. The Desire is identical to the Google Nexus One, except for some subtle changes. Along with updating the Android OS to Froyo, the update brings in some other changes as well. First and foremost, this update allows users to record videos in 720p HD resolution.

The update also brings a new enhanced Caller ID screen, ability to sync using iTunes, and the other usual standard Froyo features. The software update is available Over-The-Air (OTA) and weighs in at a whooping 25MB. Nevertheless, the update will preserve all your data, and application settings. This software update will also include a new HTC Share widget, which was first seen on the Wildfire.

The update is available, effective immediately to all unlocked Desire owners. Owners of the operator locked version of the Desire need to wait for several more weeks.

HTC Droid Incredible Receiving The OTA Software Update?

Well a few handful of Droid Incredible owners are reporting that they have got the software update notificationHTC Droid Incredible on their phone. The new OTA software updated is expected to bring 720p HD video recording, and a new boot up animation to the Incredible.

3G hotspot functionality will also be added to the Droid Incredible with this update. It is not yet confirmed whether this OTA software update has been officially released or not. As for now, users should take this news with a pinch of salt. It is also not yet confirmed whether the new software update fixes the security loop-hole via which the Droid Incredible was rooted.
