Tata Docomo Launches New Affordable 3G Tariff Plans

Tata Docomo was the first private operator to launch its 3G services in India. The company has won 3G license in nine circles including Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra. Last month, Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular reduced the price of their exciting 3G plans. However, Tata Docomo subscribers were still waiting for their operator to reduce the price of the existing 3G data plans. Now, Tata Docomo has finally joined the bandwagon.

Our friends at Telecom Talk recently shared the Tata Docomo’s new 3G tariff plans. The new data plans start from Rs.5 for 50 MB data usage and go up to Rs.450 for 2 GB of data usage. For any usage beyond the mentioned data usage on each plan, the customers will be charged at the rate of 10p/10kb. Check out the complete tariff below.

Tata Docomo is the only operator which offers 50 MB of data for just Rs.5 with a validity of 1 day. On the other hand, Vodafone and Idea charges 2p/10kb and 3p/10kb respectively for additional usage. However, Tata Docomo charges the same 10p/10kb for additional usage beyond the given limit. The existing data plans of Rs.9 and Rs.201 has been discontinued.

Airtel has previously announced the Smartbytes for 3G, which allows the customers to continue enjoying the 3G experience even after exhausting their monthly data limits using the add-on packs. Sadly, Tata Docomo has not yet started offering such plans for their 3G subscribers. But we hope that the company will launch similar data plans in the coming months. Vodafone Launches New Affordable 3G Tariff Plans In India

Last month, Idea Cellular and Airtel reduced the price of their exciting 3G plans. Now, Vodafone has finally joined the bandwagon. The company has already reduced the price of its 3G plans for postpaid users. However, the Vodafone pre-paid users had to pay a huge amount to access their 3G services. Following the price drop by Idea and Airtel in India, Vodafone went ahead and reduced the 3G tariff plans by up to 80%. You heard it right! Vodafone recently announced new 3G plans which are applicable for both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers across India.

Sanjoy Mukerji, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India, said:

With the introduction of these plans, we aim at establishing a foundation for providing a 3G data plan for everyone, making it affordable to the masses in the country. Also, users who shy away from trying 3G services due to prohibitive costs can now experience services without the fear of a bill shock. The 2p/10kb PAYG & no additional charges for roaming are the first of its kind in the Indian market. The new data plans start from Rs.25 for 25 MB data usage and go up to Rs.1599 for 12 GB of data usage. For any usage beyond the mentioned data usage on each plan, the customers will be charged at the rate of 2p/10kb. Alternately, Vodafone users can subscribe the Pay As You Go (PAYG) plan which allows them to browse the web or download their favorite songs at just 2p/10kb. Vodafone now allow its customers to use data from their bundle package while on-net roaming across any location in India without any additional charge.

Last year, Idea launched its 3G services in Maharashtra & Goa, Mumbai, Gujarat, Karnataka, AP, Tamil Nadu & Chennai, Delhi, Haryana, UP West, UP East, Bihar, Kolkata, Kerala, MP, Rajasthan, West Bengal, North East and Assam. Following the price drop by Aircel and Airtel in India, Idea Cellular went ahead and reduced the 3G tariff plans by up to 70%. You heard it right!

Sashi Shankar, CMO, Idea Cellular, said,
“We have been a pioneer in 3G since inception and with these new prices; Idea has brought 3G within the reach of the masses. I am confident that new prices will generate a lot of trial and will drive off take. Our new sachet packs of Rs. 10 & HERO-25 are aimed at youngsters who will access high speed internet on-the-go without worrying about the expense.”

Idea has 2.7 million active 3G users with average usage of 330 MB/month. Today, Idea’s gold standard 3G services are present in 3207 towns in India. Idea Cellular recently announced up to 70% price reduction on its 3G services. Both prepaid and postpaid customers will now pay 3p/10 KB of data, a reduction of 70% from the earlier price of 10p/10KB. Idea has launched a new sachet pack, which allows the customers to try the Idea’s 3G services. This sachet pack is available for just Rs.10 and it offers 30 minutes of high speed internet surfing. It comes with a validity of 1 day. On the other hand, Idea has also unveiled the new “HERO 25” sachet pack which offers 100 MB data with a validity if 3 days for just Rs.25. For regular home internet users, Idea now offers 1 GB of data download at just Rs.250. For professionals and corporate users, Idea has unlimited plan priced at Rs.950.

Airtel Launches New Affordable Tariff Plans For 3G Customers

Last year, Airtel finally launched the much-awaited 3G services in India. The company has won 3G license for 13 telecom circles in India including Mumbai, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, North East, Jammu & Kashmir. The 3G plans announced by Airtel and other operators were costly and not affordable of most of us. Soon after the launch of 4G services in India, Airtel went ahead and slashed 3G data plan rates by up to 70%.

Earlier, the subscribers would have to shell out Rs.201, Rs.450 and Rs.750 for 250 MB, 600 MB and 2 GB of data respectively. Now, the customers will have to pay just Rs.100, Rs.250 and Rs.450 for 300 MB, 1GB and 2GB of data respectively. Airtel has also launched a new 3G plan for heavy data subscribers, which allows then to download 10 GB of data for just Rs.1500. The new Airtel 3G packs are now available for both pre-paid and post-paid customers across circles using phones as well as dongles. Check out the complete tariff below.

These 3G data plans comes with a validity of 30 days. However, Airtel pre-paid customers can opt for a weekly data plan, which gives you 150 MB of data for just Rs.45 with a validity of 7 days. Airtel has also announced the new Smartbytes for 3G, which allows the customers to continue enjoying the 3G experience even after exhausting their monthly data limits using the add-on packs. Sadly, the Smartbytes is currently available only for the post-paid customers.

Idea Expands Its 3G Services In Maharashtra And Goa Circle

Idea Cellular has recently expanded its 3G services more than 10 major cities and 100 other towns in Maharashtra and Goa circle. Tata Docomo was the first private operator to launch the 3G services in circle. Apart from Tata Docomo, other private operators like Vodafone and Airtel has also started offering 3G to their customers in Maharashtra and Goa. Idea 3G services are currently available 10 major cities and 100 other towns including Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Goa, Kolhapur, Solapur, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Akola, Nanded, Shirdi, Shrirampur, Jamkhed, Pathardi, Loni, etc.

Airtel Launches Its 3G Services In Maharashtra And Goa

Last week, Airtel launched its 3G services in Kerala. Now, the company went ahead and launched its 3G services in Maharashtra circle. Airtel has won 3G license for 13 telecom circles in India Mumbai, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, North East, Jammu & Kashmir.

Airtel does not have the 3G licesnse in Maharashtra and Goa circle. Airtel has mutually signed an Intra Circle Roaming Agreement (ICRA) with private operators such as Idea and Vodafone. Airtel will offer 3G services to its customers in this circle by using the Idea’s 3G services. Airtel 3G services are currently available across all major parts in the region including Pune, Nashik city, Nagpur city & Goa state.

Airtel 3G subscribers in Maharashtra and Goa circle can access multimedia services, high speed mobile broadband, videos on phone, live TV, video calls, etc. You can also enjoy popular Bollywood and regional movies, with the help of Video Talkies portal on Airtel 3G. Idea Finally Launches 3G Services In Mumbai

Idea has finally  launched  its 3G services in Mumbai. Earlier this year, Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance Communications announced their 3G services. And now, Idea became the fourth private operator to launch the 3G services in Mumbai circle.  Idea is already offering 3G services in  Maharashtra, Goa, UP, Kerala,  Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. Idea subscribers in Mumbai can  enjoy speeds up to 21 Mbps on their 3G smartphones.

Idea Cellular had won 3G license for 11 circles Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (E), Uttar Pradesh (W), Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. But the company does not have 3G license in Mumbai circle. To offer 3G services to its subscribers in Mumbai and other circle, where the company have not won 3G licence, Idea has mutually signed an Intra Circle Roaming Agreement (ICRA) with private operators such as Airtel and Vodafone.

Idea 3G is currently available only for selected customers in Mumbai. Idea offers free 100 MB of data for free with a validity of 15 days. Airtel Launches Its 3G Services In Gujrat

Last year, Tata Docomo was the first private operator to launch its 3G services in India. And soon after that, Reliance Communications and Aircel joined the bandwagon. Early this year, private operators such as Idea, Airtel and Vodafone also launched their 3G services. Airtel first launched its 3G services in Mumbai, during March and after waiting for nearly 3 months, the company went ahead and has finally launched its 3G services in Gujrat circle.

Earlier this year, Airtel launched its 3G services in India. Airtel 3G comes with the video calling, Mobile TV, video streaming, music download and many more services. The company recently launched the international video calling services in India. This service allows you to make international video calls and interact face-to-face with your friends and families living abroad.
