Single Click Tool To Enable DreamScene On Windows 7

DreamScene is a Windows Vista ultimate feature that allowed users to set videos as desktop wallpapers. Unfortunately, DreamScene isn’t a part of Windows 7 [1]. We had in the past written [2] about a manual method to enable DreamScene on Windows 7 [1]. Today we came across a small utility that allowed you to enable or disable DreamScene in a single click. Screenshot:

The utility Windows 7 DreamScene Activator should be run in the Administrator mode and is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7.

Once downloaded:

  • Right click -> Run as Administrator
  • Enable DreamScene (wait for the application to restart Explorer)
  • Right click a video file (WMV) and set as desktop background
