Try the Triple Engine Lunascape6 Orion Browser
By on October 2nd, 2010

If you’re tired of keeping five different browsers open just so you can view a variety of content formats, you’ll be downloading Lunascape in no time. It uses three different engines simultaneously in order to bring you the best possible format for any given webpage. You can view the three windows side-by-side in vertical, horizontal, or cascade displays, depending on your personal preference.

The Triple Engine Innovation

Lunascape runs the three rendering engines that power the most popular browsers available, all at the same time. Trident powers Internet Explorer, Gecko is used for Firefox, and WebKit is the engine behind the Safari and Google Chrome browsers. Unfortunately for Mac users and Linux fans, this means that Lunascape isn’t an option yet because the Trident engine doesn’t work with these operating systems. The single platform (Windows) is a downside to Lunascape, but developers are responding to user requests and working to find a solution. However, for those who run PCs, Lunascape opens up several time-saving options with its three powerful engines and minimalist interface design.

Lunascape Features

With Version 6, you’ll be able to use Firefox, IE, and Lunascape-specific add-ons and plug-ins, so these can easily be transferred to your new browser. This helps you to avoid wasting time looking for the Lunascape equivalent to your favorite add-ons since you can simply import them. It can be up to seven times faster than IE alone because it’s able to channel the best of three engines for each webpage, saving you time while you browse. Lunascape’s start-up speed is also nearly 35% faster than IE’s, as last tested in 2009. You’ll enjoy the fact that you no longer have to flip through several open browsers or open and close specific ones when you’re looking at a PDF or other typically troublesome file format. With all that extra time, you’ll be able to customize over 100 different aspects of your personal Lunascape browser and add features to make the most of your browsing experience.

iLunascape

You may have heard that iLunascape is the first tabbed browser available for the iPad, so Lunascape isn’t just for desktops and laptops. By downloading iLunascape, you’ll be able to open up to six tabs simultaneously on your iPad, a feat that hasn’t yet been achieved by any other iPad browser. The interface is also innovative, allowing you to reach the majority of control buttons with your thumbs. This is achieved by designing the toolbars to come up at the bottom of the iPad screen, a feature that was incorporated to enable users to keep holding their tablets in the most comfortable position while browsing. You can even capture screen shots with iLunascape, which is useful for saving Web pages so you can read them later even without Internet access. If you like to be on the cutting edge of technology, Lunascape is a company to watch, and in the meantime, you can enjoy an improved browsing experience.

I’ve tried it and it’s still buggy.

Support link sends you to a Japanese forum.
Not bad if you know the language but if the interface is in English…

Thank you, Maria, for introducing Lunascape here.
Daniel, thank you for trying it out. As for support, we certainly provide in English. (Support Forum http://support.lunascape.tv) (Help http://help.lunascape.tv/LunascapeHelp-en/) It seems like you’ve found a bad link and we’ll straighten that up. It would be super helpful if you could let me know which link sent you to Japanese page. We are constantly updating it with bug fixes and new features, so it would be great if you could check back again in the future.
