This is because when you plug the USB stick, the drive letter is chosen by the OS and not you. Once the device is in, you may specify an icon but it won&#039;t last permanently.This is because when you unplug the device, the drive label is reassigned. The article discusses how you can change the basic drives of Windows using the freeware utility.
