Send Orkut Scraps via SMS

Orkut one of the most popular social networking sites in India and Brazil has added a new feature [1] where users can send scraps (friend messages) by sending SMS (text messages) from their cell phones.
To start using this feature you will need to register your mobile number [2] with Orkut before you can start using this service. The feature is not completely free and you will be charged by your service provider [3] to send and receive SMS messages. To top it only few providers are supported at this stage. This is quite opposite of the free SMS provided by AOL Mail [4] back in May.

To send a scrap to a friend you will need to type in scrap friendname your messageand send it to Orkut. There are a few other commands like reset and unregister, you can learn about those commands by visiting Orkut Help [3].
This feature has not completely rolled out yet and many users may not be able to see it in the settings page.
