Get Group Messaging for Twitter With TweetParty
By on July 25th, 2008

In the time that we have been using Twitter, there have been several services that have been created using the API provided by twitter, some of the the services build on functionality that we won’t see twitter implementing in the near future.

TweetParty is a new service that joins the list of services, but this one could turn out to be quite useful. With TweetParty you can segregate your friends into different groups. You can then easily message several friends at once by sending a message directly to that group, saving you both time and the pain of having to direct message every friend.

Many may argue that a single tweet will eventually reach all the friends, but with TweetParty you are assured to reach only the select few you want to.

Once you have created a account with tweetparty you can create groups and add your friends to it. Messaging your friends directly is quite easy, simply direct message tweetparty with the group you want to send the message to, and your message, tweetparty will take care of the rest.

Message Example: d tweetparty #nerds are you’ll ready for the beta testing round

You will have to first add tweetparty as a friend before you can send a messages, since twitter does not allow you to send direct messages to anyone other then friends (people who follow you and are being followed by you)

We are quite impressed with the concept and though its certainly not a ground breaking one, it definitely adds more power to the way you send messages using twitter.

Have fun group messaging your friends in twitter, don’t forget to follow us on twitter.
