A new hoax message is reportedly spreading like wildfire on Facebook. The fake message indicates that a Facebook game released based on the romantic-fantasy movie about vampires, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn contains the “worst virus” ever.
The message spreading states that the game contains a link to a virus, which will automatically download on the user’s computer after clicking on it. It also indicates that the warning was reported by CNN. However, there isn’t any news or warning that CNN has reported. The game is not associated with Facebook; yet it claims that Facebook has made a statement that it is one of the worst virus ever created, which in fact it hasn’t.
Repost :WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *GAMING FRIENDS – TAKE NOTE !!!! : This was on CNN this morning . Do not click on a link that says it is a game for Twilight the Movie ” BREAKING DAWN “, it will have a picture and everything . This is not associated with FB . FB says this is the worst virus ever !!! PLEASE REPOST FOR YOUR FRIENDS!!!
As you can see, the fake message asks users to repost it and spread the “warning” message. This is a hoax and DO NOT unnecessarily repost such messages and spam the social network. Please ignore/delete the message if you come across it in your Facebook news feed. It is always a good practice to verify such messages before you repost it on Facebook or elsewhere.
This warning is similar to the one of the earlier reported “fake virus” warnings, the Olympic torch virus which also falsely stated it was featured on CNN and was one of the worst viruses ever! People create such hoax messages to see how the message evolves and how far it will spread. Perhaps they wonder whether a hoax posted in one place, will ever come back to them again.
I suggest you to stop reposting/sharing it with your friends. If you come across this message or have already shared this message with your friends, then do the needful by deleting/removing it from your wall by clicking the xin the top-right corner of the post.
