International Rockstar Legend Jon Bon Jovi Dead at 49 – Facebook Hoax

A new hoax message spreading on Facebook indicates that the International rock star legend Jon Bon Jovi died at the age of 49. The hoax states that the rock star was pronounced dead today after paramedics found him in a coma at his Empress Hotel, city and law enforcement of Asbury Park.

The message with the title – “International Rockstar Legend Jon Bon Jovi dead at 49″ is a hoax. Please DO NOT unnecessarily share (or retweet) messages like this and spam the social network. Please ignore/delete the message if you come across it in your Facebook news feed. It is always a good practice to verify such messages before you repost it on Facebook  or elsewhere.

The hoax was first posted on a WordPress hosted blog – dailynewbloginternational.wordpress.com, which users on the social networking sites are sharing the link to the blog post. The post URL has gone viral, and having seen such a huge reaction from the fans, the ageing rock star, posted a picture of himself on Twitter holding up a sign that read: “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey.”

He captioned the snap on Facebook as: “Rest assured that Jon is alive and well! This photo was just taken.”

This clearly indicates that Jon Bon Jovi still alive and kicking!

Hoax messages like this are generally created to drive traffic to websites, generate revenue, or to gather personal information about the visitor. In this case, the website owner posted this blog post to generate heavy traffic to the blog. Users on Facebook and Twitter are constantly sharing the post URL and spreading the hoax message. If you come across such updates on social networking sites, then make sure you notify the user (who shared the message) that this is a fake story.

There are several hoax messages spreading on Facebook. One such hoax message that created a huge buzz on the social network was the “You Will Hate Rihanna After Watching This Video!” which falsely claimed to show a leaked video of Rihanna making out with someone.
