2 FREE Southwest Airline Tickets! (limited time only) Facebook Scam

As if department stores gift cards and Victoria’s Secret Valentines day gift cards were not enough scammers are now distributing free tickets for Southwest airlines on .

The new Facebook scam is spreading using the following message:

Receive 2 FREE Southwest Airline Tickets Today! Southwest Airlines is currently giving away 2 FREE Tickets to all Facebook users!

Southwest Airline Tickets. | Welcome. Southwest Airline Tickets,Your Explicit Participation Required.

However, beware of this scam as it is not true and Southwest airlines is definitely not giving away FREE tickets to anyone as such. The scam in itself is not dangerous, but it might become if lot of people share them.

Southwest Free Tickets Scam

Currently, clicking on the link will not harm you since it will only post a link to your wall. However, in future spammers could throw up a survey scam or even download malware to your computer.

Another similar scam is also running with a signature “Southwest Airline Tickets,Your Explicit Participation Required.” This scam has a like page on Facebook and asks users to complete a survey to get their free Southwest Airline tickets. However, in the end you will not get anything.

We will keep an eye on the Facebook spam to see if more users are affected by this and whether or not the scam gets more dangerous in the future.

It is recommended that you DO NOT click on such links or scam messages on Facebook. If you come across this scam message, please delete/remove the scam from your Facebook news feed immediately. Alternately, you can report the scam to Facebook Security.
