Ok I am back after a very long time, so think that a quick tip would be the perfect way to start again, this is a quick tip to avoid typing full website url's in the location bar of your browser.

It is a very common practice that we type full website names whenever we want to visit a website like www.google.com or http://www.techie-buzz.com, but there is a quicker way in which you can type in the entire url.

Each URL consists of different components

http://www.techie-buzz.com contains four different parts;

1. "http" is the protocol that is used to access the web site
2. "www" this is not a part of the url but is basically a subdomain of the actual domain name
3. "techie-buzz" this is the actual domain name
4. ".com" this is called the TLD (Top Level Domain) which can be of various types like .net, .info, .de, .jp etc

Ok now knowing that the third part is the actual domain, there is a simple trick using which you can just type in the domain name and go to the actual url.

In the address location bar you just have to type in "techie-buzz" and click the keys CTRL + ENTER, doing this will automatically add the http, www and .com parameters, so your url will look like this http://www.techie-buzz.com when you press the key combination above.

Though this is only for .com TLD's you can also use the same trick for ".net" TLD but in case of ".net" TLD's there is another combination, so pressing  the key combination SHIFT + ENTER will automatically add http, www and .net to the url so the url will now be http://www.techie-buzz.net.

For .org domain the shortcut keys are CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER

I am trying to find out shortcuts for other TLD"s will update this post as soon as i can find them.
