Well its been quite a busy day and there were many interesting new things released today, here is the roundup of all the popular software news and releases that happened today.
Yahoo released a new version of the add-on Del.icio.us for Internet Explorer
The new add-on brings on the same experience which Firefox users with the Del.icio.us extension to Internet Explorer.
New Features for Del.icio.us Internet add-on includes;
- Near instantaneous searching with very large accounts (over 10K bookmarks)
- Full del.icio.us sidebar and toolbar implementation with bookmark sync and typedown search
- Toolbar indicators for new network activity and links for you
- Works on IE6, IE7, and IE8 beta on both XP and Vista

I am turning on to become a big fan of Adobe Air as they are bringing more and more applications to the confines of my desktop.
For those who are not aware of Adobe Air, it is a runtime created by Adobe Inc which allows developers to create rich Internet applications that can run on any desktop irrespective of the operating system.
I have been using quite a few Adobe Air applications including Google Analytics AIR application (Google Analytics for your desktop), AirTalkr(Multi Protocol Client for IMs), Feedalizr (Freindfeed Desktop Application), Thwirl ( Tweeter Client) and Klok ( A project management tool).

Internet is a mine of information but with that information comes risks and vulnerabilities. Every time you connect to the Internet not only are you reading information but some small software may be stealthily sending information to hackers and spammers about your activities.
Well no famous person wrote that quote it was just me elaborating a point that every time you connect to the Internet you may be vulnerable even though you may be safely visiting your favorite email site or just browsing news from your favorite newspaper. It all boils down to who is watching you and how?
What are Spam Softwares and Trojan Horses?
Spam softwares and Trojan horses without Internet are useless (even some viruses that look to spread rather than destroy). The main aim of these softwares (they are softwares but malicious in nature because they do things which you never authorized them to do) is to collect personal information of any sort including surfing habits and going to the extremes of critical information like banking passwords and sending them to other servers so that they can send you ads or maybe loot your money.

During the past few months many software vendors have been releasing free licensed version softwares which in would require you to pay some license fees to the people for free.
Most of the software vendors release their older version for free so that people can usually try them out and opt in for licenses in newer version of the software. The new marketing strategy brought out by the companies definitely seems to be working in their favor.

Quite sometime back I had spoken about viewing PDF files online without the need for any software. It was quite useful for those who did not have any softwares installed on their PC to view the PDF documents.
To take it one step further you can always convert the PDF files to images which can be readily viewed on any computer without the need to install any other software. Most operating systems which have a desktop version have inbuilt capabilities to view most of the image formats. In fact you may even use the convertors if you want to insert a PDF into a PowerPoint presentation or into a Word document.
