Back at IFA this year, Sony announced its updated Xperia line-up of handsets including the Xperia T and V. Back then, Sony had stated that it will release the Xperia V in late-November/early-December.

However, it looks like Sony has decided to push back the release date of Xperia V to early-January. The company announced via its Sony Xperia France Twitter account that it will be releasing the Xperia V in January 2013 now. The reason behind this delay is that Sony wants to release the handset with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on-board instead of Android 4.0.4 as it had originally announced.
Along with this, Sony will also be reducing the price of the handset to €529 from its original intended price of €549 to compensate for the delay.
It is not yet confirmed whether the Xperia V will be delayed in France only or the whole of Europe. The handset will, however, go on sale in Japan this week under the KDDI network as announced.
