Last month, Sony rolled out the Android 4.0 update for the Xperia Arc S, Xperia Ray and Xperia Neo V smartphones. The company has also confirmed that the popular Xperia Play gaming smartphone will not get the Android 4.0 update. This is definitely a bad news for the Xperia Play owners, but we have good news for the Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo owners.
Sony has finally rolled out the much-awaited Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for the Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo smartphones. The latest update is numbered 4.1.B.0.431 and it bumps the Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo to Android 4.0.4 OS. It comes with some usability improvements and applications multitasking, Face Recognition (Face Unlock), mobile data management, improved text input and spell checking, improved menu structure and much more.
Sadly, this update is not available via OTA (Over-The-Air). You will need to manually update your phone, just by connecting you phone to the computer. It is advised to backup all you data before updating the device. You should also make sure that, the battery is fully charged before updating your phone.
